Restlessly I decide to drive hoping to clear my mind, Clavo sits on the back and Bee sits next to me.
The whole ride was silent and it somehow gives me relief from anxiety and anger that were not leaving my skin.
As I step into the mansion Calvo pulls my sleeve. "Come sit" he drags to the couch nearby and just pushes me on it, "what do you want now?" I say deadpan,
"What the hell just happened!?"
"When what happened…?"
Calvo lets out a growl and I chuckle,
"You are laughing? He just informed you that you are going to get married!!"
I sigh, "calvo…..he has been informing me everything but he never discusses it, he finalizes everything and then tells me the final stage. He is like that and I don't know
what to expect from him."
"He is taking care of you, but still you should voice out your opinion…..are you ready to get married? I am very sure the wedding will be held within a month." He looks
so worried about me, I pat the space beside me for him to sit and after a moment of hesitation he sits, Bee walks slowly inside and looks at both of us and he also
comes near me and sits on the other side.
"I want you both to listen very carefully, I am not ready for any of this shit my father is preparing me for. But I am pushing myself through this for my soldiers, for you
guys, for all the casino workers….."
"What connection do casino workers have in your wedding!!" Bee cuts me short.
"If I don't marry I won't have a heir, who will take care if I am gone!?" I exclaim,
"You haven't even fallen in love!" Calvo mumbles.
My lips forms into a faint smile, "Boy, love is not on my agenda right now... and I am really relieved to take a mafia boss's daughter than to bring an innocent girl
who doesn't know anything about this mafia world who doesn't even knows what she is going to go through!"
Clavo didn't speak anything for a few minutes, neither Bee spoke.
"So...are you up for meeting your lady!?" Bee gets excited all of sudden, amused I shake my head.
"Very much, I hope you guys will help me in choosing the right dress..." I look slowly at Calvo,
"Sure!" Calvo nods, I sigh in relief.
The dusk comes and then the night also comes and passes away and again a new day comes by. We did some checking on the casinos and our soldiers in the morning.
Bee, Calvo and myself get ready by 4 PM. I don't want to be late, the boys dressed me in a new suit which I never knew how they bought it in the first place.
"Come let's go, the journey is long" Bee says impatiently, I smile seeing the boys are very curious about the girl.
Last night I dreamt of my mom, not about her death like I usually do…...but about the happy times we had together.
"Yeah yeah coming" Calvo says as his eyes scans me up and down,
"What are you looking at!?" I ask, amused.
"When the girl lifts her eyes to see you her mouth must water, I am just making sure of it." his hands come to my next to adjust the tie, I grin.
"Well, thank you! Now only if you let me out of your captive I can meet the girl"
"Sure sure, let's go out together"
Bee gets out first, behind him Calvo and then me, we cross the living room and that's when after days the emptiness in the house hits all three of us, but I am not
gonna dwell on Viviana when she didn't even say a goodbye to the brother who loved her with all his heart.
We exit the mansion and walk to the car which is parked in front of the door. I place my hand on the door to open it, oh no my ring is missing, the ring with the
crescent of my family, my father will go insane if he notices the missing ring.
"I forgot the ring, let me just go and pick it up. You guys start the car." I say as I walk back,
"I will bring it, it's on your study table!" Bee suggests.
"No no" I reject his offer and start to jog,
"Don't shake your ass too much when you walk or else your pants will get wrinkled!" Calvo shouts behind me, I laugh out loud.
This boy and his thoughts, I shake my head.
I quickly pick my ring from the table and slide it on my right ring finger, as I jog back to the car I cross the living, the telephone on the living area starts to ring.
It must be dad, it's already 4.45 PM.
I turn away to ignore it, "go Max take it" my brain compels me.
I sigh and check the number on the screen on the telephone, it flashes an unknown number.
Who is this?
I pick it up and keep it near my ear, "Hello" I speak first.
Silence greets me back, I again say "Hello".
Still there is a pin drop silence, "Hello, who is on the other side!?"
I sound impatient,
"Hi, it's me." there comes a whisper,
My whole body went rigid.
