Chapter 7 - Day 7

Waking up to an ever present rustling I go and find where the rustling is the loudest the workshop peaking my head inside I see mounds of dirt shaking. God damn it of course the insectoids are on this shitty planet. Worried about the viability of fighting inside my base I open all doors to my "courtyard" where I have turrets, ushering Kitsuna out she seems grumpy as I woke her up. Once she was outside the courtyard I got in position to receive the insectoids. Waiting over and hour I can already imagine the damages to my workshop as they slowly start to trickle out the front right into my crosshairs. Firing volley after volley of shots upon the horde of monstrosities with the help of the turrets. The horde was thin enough that my knife would be all that I need to finish the actual threat. With all of the insectoids downed I moved inside of my hill to my workshop moving slowly with intent so as to have time to get ready if there are more around the hives clearing away all the hives I think of ways to prevent such unfortunate events in future. The two solutions I though up was to have a auto-turret in every room so if they pop up they get gunned down but I worried about my safety as well as Kitsuna's, the other solution was to setup a way to ignite the air and burn them to death from the outside both options seem to have very obvious problems but also so clear benefits. While mulling it over I decide to go and do a little exploring around my hill. As I walk with Kitsuna among the rolling hills I get to the summit of one and take a look around. From the top of this hill I can see my walled compound and the top of a tree that shouldn't be here. A mana tree or better know as a qi tree to most, but what I find weird is if there is a mana tree then there is mana but I don't see or sense any mana. Also if there is one mana tree there are usually more. Seeing the mana tree is good news as it means Kitsuna will be particularly happy as she seems to enjoy being around these mana trees. So we start down the hill towards the mana tree walking through the forest was relaxing compared to the last few days. Arriving at the mana tree I start to dig out the mana trees root carefully so as to not kill the extremely sensitive tree. Once its was all dug out I hoist it over my shoulder and start carrying it back to my compound for my meditative garden and Kitsuna's enjoyment. As we reach the compound Kitsuna runs ahead and into the hill, I continue trudging in with thee mana tree making it to the secluded alcove I long since designated for peace and quiet. I place the mana tree on the ground and start digging a hole to plant it in. Once the tree was in thee ground Kitsuna basically appeared out of no were and started rubbing and scratching the mana tree. Leaning back against the mana tree I beckon Kitsuna over to come sit in my lap. As we sit there I start to drift off to sleep, upon entering the land of dreams I notice something I haven't seen several millennium. A humanoid with nine snow white tails, something I hadn't seen since Kitsuna's mom Rain. Who said that if a nine tailed humanoid or fox appears in my dreams it means that Kitsuna is close to a major event, if it was a fox form it means that thee kitsune in question as accepted their bloodline and race and become a true immortal. If was a humanoid they have cultivated enough power to take a humanoid form. Kitsuna had long ago become a true immortal, so considering this it leads to the development that all she needed was time if it was the other way around it might be an issue as it becomes harder to accept race when you have two forms at least thats what Rain said. Knowing this I walk over to make contact with who I can only assume is Kitsuna
