POV: Grace Samont
"Hey!" Yuri patted me in the back, disturbing my afternoon nap. Ugh... I should have seriously gone to sleep early. I feel like I'm about to die because I'm so drained from all the school work...
I groaned. "What?!" I irritated asked him. He pouted his lips and swayed his hips. "You should really sleep early. Stop sleeping at 2 Am." He scolded me, making me chuckle softly as I feel very lethargic.
"Geez..." He mumbled. "You're starting to look like Penelope. Is there like a disease going around where yall turn ugly as fuck or what?" Yuri joked to me. Which gives me an uncomfortable feeling. Ugh.
I remember how she looked like the last time we saw her and it wasn't pretty... her eyes were sunken and her eyebags were plentiful. Her skin was flaky as if it was an old person. She looked like her life was being taken away from her. It was a pitiful appearance to look at.
"Hey.." I spoke softly, getting Yuri's attention. "Do you think there's something wrong with Penelope like literally something wrong with her?"
"No shit sherlock." Yuri scoffed me off. "SHE legit looked like a beef jerky hung out in the sun too long. She looks like one of those zombies without even the prosthetic makeup. Honestly, I don't know how the fuck that bitch got into that state but boy, she's taking something." Yuri laughed at himself but I wasn't the slightest bit entertained.
I'm actually worried. Very worried about Penelope. She was always vibrant and very loud and positive but now she's acting so strange... and it just started to happen when we had that interview WITH THAT STUPID PREDATORY DOUCHEBAG. SHE'S spending so much time with him lately and I'm starting to think it's the reason why this is happening.
"You're thinking about something aren't you?" Yuri tapped the table slightly to get me off my train of thought.
"What makes you say that?" I raised my eyebrow at his smiling face.
"It's cause you've been mumbling to yourself all this time. I mean come on girl. You can't lie to me because I know you too well." Yuri snickered. "So anyway, you better tell what you're thinking or I'll just find out about it anyway." He threatened me softly.
I gave up holding it in and just told him straightforwardly. "I think there has to be something wrong with Penelope."
"Bitch I know that. She looked like a mummy of course I'd know that something is wrong with her." Yuri blurted out.
"No! I mean like I think Claude has something to do with why she's looking that way. I think there must be a reason why." I told him, my suspicions. He was skeptical at first giving me a confused look.
"And what makes you say that? I mean Claude Montresor is kind of bitchy and he's like arrogant so I don't think Claude will even give Penelope his time because he thinks that he's so much better than everyone else. I mean he did that to me during the interview. He made fun of me and looked down on me so I don't know why you think it's Claude, honestly, I think it's just Penelope herself." Yuri explained his answer and opinions about the situation.
"Do you think that Penelope would just look like that because she has a crush on the CEO or something?" I sarcastically asked him.
"Yes," Yuri replied bluntly. "Frankly, I think Penelope kind of has a few screws loose on her head so I think it wouldn't really be out of the ordinary if she did something stupid that pissed Claude off and now she's acting depressed over it." Yuri lets out a short laugh before changing into a serious tone, deepening his voice in the process.
"But still! I have this feeling that it's Claude's fault! I mean we know that she's obsessed with him because he likes him or whatever but I don't think that Penelope is that stupid to just be in that state of mind and appearance." I argued.
"Girl you give people way too much credit." Yuri denied my accusation. "Penelope's a total mess. She doesn't like to have a good mental psyche so I think when something happened to her and Claude. She might have just gone crazy or some shit but in the end why on earth would Claude even pay attention to a girl as basic as Penelope. We're not like in some sort of novel where the CEO would just notice someone that's not even interesting."
Ugh... I still have this feeling in my gut like there's something wrong that's happening. I'm so curious about it and I think I'll have to get to the bottom of this in order to satisfy my craving for the answer but how should I start.
"Yuri. Do you think you can help me?" I asked him for a favor. He narrowed his eyes on me. Crossing his arms. "What? Hey if you're gonna ask me to help you with a favor someone else asked you to do then I'm the wrong person to ask SINCE I ALREADY TOLD NOT TO DO THINGS THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO DO." He scolded me harshly before I could even give the details about the favor.
Seriously what a good friend he is.. and that was sarcasm.
I rolled my eyes. "LET ME FINISH MY SENTENCE FIRST," I shouted, leaving him to shut his mouth to listen to me.
"EEE!" He shrilled like a frightened bat. "I.. don't just shout at me.. eee.." He stuttered on his words.
Huh? Why is he acting so passive all of a sudden? Usually, he's so aggressive but the moment I shouted at him, he turned into a frightened little boy.. what?
I guess that's fine, at least he'll finally hear what I'm saying now since he stopped talking.
"Can you help me find out what's wrong with Penelope? I think that we should probably keep a close eye on her." I asked him. He shook off the timidness and reverted back to his aggressive self. "Um.. no one wants to watch over a boring girl. Ew.."
"IDIOT. We ain't going to watch her because we like doing it. We're going to look over so that we can see why she's acting strange and why she looks strange." I explained.
"Um, shouldn't we just ask her directly? Don't you think stalking her and stuff is odd? Even if we do have good intentions that's still an invasion of her privacy." Yuri replied.
"WELL, WHAT OTHER CHOICE DO WE HAVE!" I shouted. "I'm worried and I think that Claude douchebag got something to do with it! So you better help me see so we can tell what's happening to her!" I shivered in fear.
