Chapter 33 - Chapter 32: The smell of fear

Tartarus

It had been months since the campaign began.

Hundreds of Titans settlements had been captured and brought into Maeron's army from all over Tartarus, by Maeron and the others.

The Titans that were brought in were also sent out to gather more Titans creating a chain.

"It always comes to strength in the end," Maeron said floating above the newly conquered settlement.

"Really it seems that the only language that most of you Titans understand is strength. I know I shouldn't complain, with your actual level this is a good thing for me..." He then looked at the destroyed settlement and defeated Titans a sight that had become used to over the months and sighed,

"It's just that beaten weakened Titans is depressing, it makes me feel like a mere bully,"

"You- YOU miserable god, spawn of Zeus do not think that you have succeeded we will never submit to you, the only reason you defeated us is because we are weakened, we will never submit to you..."

"Booom," Before that titans could end his sentence a massive wave of energy fell upon him creating a massive explosion.

When the dust settled nothing remained from the Titans in question.

"There is always at least one, in each settlement there is always at least one defiant one, one that tried to be the hero," Maeron said used to what just happened.

'one useful sacrifice,'

Looking at the Titans on the ground he saw those that his little display had scared into submission and the others that were ready to resume the fight.

'Another good bunch, they will make a powerful force,' he thought analyzing those that were ready to resume the fight.

"But not against me," his eyes then darted toward the ones that had already submitted to him and he spotted the first one that had kneeled in front of him.

Putting his hand forward a wave of grayish energy flew toward the titan

"What are you doing to him, you promise that you will let them live if they submit as expected of a god you are a liar kill him..."

Before he could end his sentence the Titan in question got up,

"T-This, this is incredible, I feel fine! I feel better,"

"Haa, that feels so good," The titan stretched his limbs as much as he could his power spread everywhere.

"It feels like I'm reborn again after all those years," he said before once again kneeling before Maeron.

"My lord and king I Lupain will be your loyal follower from now on,"

The other titans seeing what happened under their eyes quickly followed suit, even those who a few seconds ago wanted to fight him.

Seeing their comrade who had been suffering with them return to his former glory under their eyes convinced them to follow Maeron.

"Do not fall for it, It's a trick of this god..."

"Another one!" Maeron said before creating a portal that swallowed the titan.

"You who have accepted to follow me receive my gift, the gift of Maeron," he said spreading a grayish mist that swallowed everyone.

After a few seconds, all the Titans had returned to their peak.

"Lupain are you the first to submit to me you will be the leader of this group, any objection?" Seeing that everyone seemed to agree Maeron nodded and sent a map containing the information toward his settlement.

"The first mission is to bring everyone back to the city that I'm building, this is the information," after he disappeared in one of his portals.

****

Getting out of his portal Maeron looked around him, he analysed everything with a critical mind.

"The place is more desolate than a week ago," he said looking around

The walls of the cave seemed older, and weaker like they would crumble at the slightest touch.

The miasme was much more toxic and powerful melting everything it came in contact with.

The smell was putrid and poisonous, and the darkness seemed more menacing, it was a place that any normal person would avoid.

"You seem to have regained a lot of your strength Typhoon, king of beasts," Maeron said looking at the creature trapped in the depths of that cave.

"You seem to have become more casual with me son of Zeus," it replied with its sinister voice that would make people shudder.

"We met each other plenty of times now, I'm practically your friend now, Am I not?"

After not receiving any answer he sighed.

"After so long alone I thought that you would be open to the idea of having someone to talk to, well I may not be your friend but I hope we are not enemies at least after all I'm definitively your supplier!"

He opened a portal above and from there about ten Titans fell on the ground in front of him.

"Titans again!" Typhoon said with an int of complaint in the voice

"What are they not consistent enough for your diet? I understand, they aren't that consistent in their current state, plus you prefer gods, right," Maeron said before another portal opened this time bringing two unconscious goddesses.

Those goddesses were those who betrayed Hera for Zeus and had been imprisoned as a way to keep the peace.

Maeron had found where they had been put and to those two out without being noticed by anyone.

"How about we make another deal and I will bring you more powerful gods, there are a few that I want to get rid of anyway,"

"I will be out in one month whether you want it or not as per our agreement you will have to honor it or suffer the consequences. I refused your other deals until now and it will continue to do so!"

"It doesn't matter as per our agreement you can't do anything to me anyway,"

Since he had started to feed the monster that was Typhoon Maeron had tried to make additional deals with him, to put the monster completely on his side or to gain more power in Tartarus but of course, he had always been rejected.

His gaze shifted below him, looking at the people unconscious on the ground he sighed a little.

With a wave of the hand, the Titans and the gods floated in the air before they were surrounded by a ball of spacial energy.

He then slowly directed them toward the barrier put by Zeus himself.

With great dexterity and always greater dexterity he skilfully makes them bypass the barrier.

In the end, all the poor goddesses and Titans found themselves trapped in the prison with Typhoon.

"Always very tedious!" Maeron said massaging his shoulders.

"Now I'm letting you do you, though I will not hide that I do not particularly like your habit of playing with your food,"

With that, he turned around and left.

"I will find a way. One day you too will find yourself in my stomach, like your father when get out of here." Typhoon said venomously looking at the departing Maeron with a voracious desire to know the taste of his flesh.

Soon his attention was on his now cellmate.

The miasm in the air surrounded them slowly like a snake coiling around its prey.

Slowly they started to stir and wake up,

"He destroyed those goddesses' minds like all the other goddesses that you ever brought. Huh, are you trying to prevent them from dying suffering in pain and fear or are you kidding something," it said grabbing them and swallowing them slowly.

"What is this? Where am I? cof cof,"

While he was savoring the flesh of the two goddesses Typhoon heard the voice of one of the Titans getting up.

"Hey, get up, where did that accursed god send me, you will pay for that cof, cof,"

"Where am I? Who are you? Where is that god?" slowly the other Titans were up trying to figure out where they were.

"Hahaha," Typhoon laugh slowly.

"Who is there, show yourself," they said before Typhoon slowly emerged from the mist revealing himself to the Titans.

"What kind of monster is that? Wait I know you are Typhoon!" one of them said in fear, even though they had never fought the monster they had heard a lot about him, how that beast had nearly ended the gods by itself, they knew that they couldn't defeat it especially not in their current state.

"W-Wait Wait! w- we can find an arrangement, we can work for you..."

Before the titan could end its sentence it was grabbed by one of the snakes protruding from Typhoon's shoulder.

"No, Noo, Waitt," they could only watch in horrors while one of their own was slowly eaten alive.

The sight instilled in them some kind of primal fear that they couldn't escape.

"Humm, yess," Typhoon exclaimed savoring the flesh of the Titan that was fighting for its life hitting and sending waves of energy against him.

"I prefer when they are fighting," he said taking a deep breath

"Haa, I love the smell of fear,"

After swallowing the first Titan it turned its reptilian gaze toward the other.
