Chapter 55 - New Weapon (2)

NEW WEAPON (2)

Stalane noticed Kaleigh's eyes that were observing the two of them split the rewards.

She faced Kaleigh and hand over the skill book to him."Well now that we're settled, here's the book you were looking for"

Kaleigh blinked twice and was quite hesitant when he received the book that Stalane gave him. "Uh... Thanks"

Kaleigh put the skill book on his inventory and brought out another weapon. "Here, you can have this. Treat it as my reward for finding the book"

🔸 Icon Name: Gale's Bullet

🔸 Class Required : Hunter

🔸 Rank Required: Rank 3F

🔸 Flavour Text : A weapon that shots an enemy that is vigorous as a bullet and as swift as the wind. The owner of this weapon, Shean, mercilessly killed his own family, using this bow in order to achieve his goal.

Stalane read the details of the bow after she accepted the weapon from Stalane. She didn't bother to understand the flavor text as she was too busy examining the weapon itself. She did learn that the weapon is up to her own standards, however, upon reading the details she also noticed that she wouldn't be able to use it due to its rank restrictions.

"Looks like, you would be really needing to enter the Brave Challenger Games with me" Syton hinted as he also read the details of the weapon using Notitia.

Hearing that Stalane would most likely be stuck with Syton much longer makes her frown. "Why do I have to be with you?" she murmured.

"Syton" Kaleigh called him out.

"Yeah?"

"Let me borrow your Alsword for a while and the 3 gems, I'll have someone refine it for you"

"Really? Alright, thanks!" Syton willingly gave Kaleigh his sword to him.

"I'll return it to you by tomorrow" Kaleigh said while he put it inside his inventory.

While Kaleigh browse through his inventory, something caught his attention. Kaleigh almost forgot that he also have this on him. He brought it out using the "Orv" Lyrion spell without even uttering it.

Kaleigh throw the book to Syton. The latter caught it using his left hand.

"What's this?"

"Plegha told me to give it to you"

Upon hearing the dera's name, Syton's shoulder shuddered a bit. Stalane noticed it and gave Kaleigh a glare.

Kaleigh paid no heed to Stalane and Syton's reaction. "It's up to you whether you'll use it or disregard it. But if this will make you feel better, neither I or Plegha, put or did anything with that skill book."

Stalane surveyed Kaleigh and Syton while putting some thought about what she witnessed and heard about. It is true that she couldn't trust any words that Kaleigh just said. He might've been lying. But, she also couldn't ignore her own principles that she have learned from her past experiences.

Thus, Stalane made a choice to give Syton an advice.

"Syton, I think you should keep it for now"

Syton looked towards her and was surprised by her words.

"You are weak" Stalane candidly said.

Syton's jaw dropped for how Stalane just slapped him with the truth.

"And that is also why, you should always take advantage of what the world offers to you" Stalane continued.

Syton contemplated at what Stalane said and he completely understood what she meant. He nodded and put the skill book on his inventory.

Seeing how Syton received a lot of things with this subquest, Kaleigh felt a little bit of guilt to Stalane.

Originally, he planned to accept this quest for her to find her own weapon, specifically the Alsword. However, he wasn't expecting her to party up with Syton thus ruining the plan of her getting the weapon instead. He just then thought that the skill book would possibly be enough for Stalane, but when it comes down to it, Kaleigh also learned about Stalane's personality.

Stalane does not receive something for free.

Although, technically, Stalane deserves to have the skill book, but he and Stalane had an agreement before to give him the book.

That is also the reason why Kaleigh received the skill book from her, and just gave her a weapon that he just accidentally got a few days ago from a random braver. The weapon is considered as the compensation for the book that Kaleigh received.

For some reason, Stalane was able to tell what Kaleigh was thinking base on his expression. It was quite a rare one for her to see. Despite of being mad to him, she also can't help but to admire the expression he just made. No, it was also probably he has a good-looking face.

"I don't need any skill books to learn skills. I already have plenty enough"

Stalane didn't said that to comfort Kaleigh, but was merely telling the truth. Stalane is already a professional agent, thus she is already adept with using different skills that would be useful with her current class. It is also wouldn't be too hard for her to learn new skills, as long as she could see someone do one. She's quite known to be a fast learner back on their own organization, after all.

Kaleigh gave a small smile as if remembering the time when Stalane and him was training together.

"Indeed, it did seemed that you didn't need one even back then" Stalane immediately knows what he was talking about.

"I'll go see you two again on the event" Kaleigh bids his goodbye to the two Braver and left the room.

As a result, Syton and Stalane was left alone on the room. Syton gave a meaningful smile to Stalane in which the latter didn't like.

"No. I'm gonna train by myself" Stalane immediately declared after reading what Syton was about to propose.

"Wha--? That's boring!" Syton complained.

"At the first place, I don't even see any reason why I should stick with you still? The quest is over"

"Well, there's still the event? It is better going there with someone you know than going alone. Besides, do you even know where and when the event starts?"

Stalane was taken back by his argument. She couldn't deny that what he have just said makes some point and she still doesn't have any idea about the event and how it works.

"Fine" she gave up.
