Chapter 50 - Forlorn Ikewa (2)

FORLORN IKEWA (2)

"Why are you here, Keigh?"

The guy named Keigh just stared at the creature. He waited for a few seconds before he casually answered, "I'm making sure that you won't make any mistake".

The creature just laughed at his remark.

"It will depend on how they'll act. Let me also just remind you to not act so highly in front of me as if this is one your territory, Keigh. You are not our god, nor our king"

Keigh ignored its words. He stood up from his sit and walked towards a wall. He took a quick glance on the hologram that was showing where Syton was. Keigh smirked at the creature before walking pass through the wall and completely disappear from that room.

"How could he even bother watching using a 2A mirror lustro replica item, when he is already have his hands full from doing a lot of unnecessary quests for his guild?"

---

Stalane blankly stared at the man who suddenly appeared before her. She puts up her guard but something is telling her that something about him was not right.

"You are?" She asked to confirm his identity.

The man just opened his inventory and pulled out the item which shows a hologram of where and what Syton is doing. It was something he stole from the creature earlier.

Stalane furrowed her brows and was prepared to attack him at any moment, not until the man finally spoke.

"Whenever I show up, you're too cautious of me. I'm Kaleigh." He introduced himself.

Stalane's eyes showed some signs of doubt, which Kaleigh easily noticed.

"To be more precise, I'm Kaleigh's clone. Apparently, the original body is busy handling a lot of business matters---"

"Cleaning stuff?"

Kaleigh's clone smiled at her question. "Yes. Thoroughly cleaning a lot of dirty places and bugs."

Stalane eyes wandered at the hologram. She noticed how Syton's going to the wrong direction over and over again.

Kaleigh followed where Stalane was looking at. Stalane immediately divert the topic and asked a question, "What are you doing here?".

"I'm here to watch"

That was not the answer that Stalane was expecting.

"Watch?"

Kaleigh nodded to affirm his statement earlier. As if on cue, both of them watched Syton.

"Why is he going to the same place over and over again? Is he doing it on purpose? I'm pretty sure that he have a good sense of direction" Stalane asked feeling confused.

Even Kaleigh was wondering that. But a few seconds later, Stalane distinguished another factor.

"Don't tell me he's..." she murmured.

She noticed this way before when she was doing different missions, she also had this habit before that she eventually fixed thanks to her superiors.

Kaleigh was curious on what Stalane found out but he knew that he still have not a right to ask her such things. This will might only lead her to suspect of him more.

"Do you know how to go where Syton is? There seems to be another barrier that prevents me from going any further" Stalane immediately asked after seeing how dangerous Syton's situation is.

"Plegha won't allow you to enter as he is not interested in facing you. He is only interested with a guy like Syton. That is why, Syton must defeat the current owner of this rest house by himself" Kaleigh explained.

With her knowing that, she felt insulted. "What are you talking about? Do you mean that whoever that Plegha is, he intentionally blocked me?! Where is he?"

"I can't let you go there, Stalane. Plegha is a different dera. He's an intelligent rank 1A dera. Even I, doesn't even know why he suddenly decided to resides here in this rest house. He was originally hiding somewhere else"

Stalane was shocked at what she heard. A rank 1A dera?! Just hearing its rank could make anyone tremble in fear. Even Stalane knows that it's an enemy that they couldn't defeat at their current strength. If they ever face that dera, death is the only thing awaits for them.

Stalane clenched her fist in irritation. They only have a few hours to finish their quest. If they couldn't finish it, who knows what the consequence will they face. But right now, there is an enemy that there's no way that they could ever defeat!

She shook her head and made up her mind.

"Show me the way, Kaleigh" Stalane said with determination.

Kaleigh shook his head, being firmed on his decision. Stalane gave him a glare.

"Why are you blocking my way?! Do you just want me to watch and see how Syton die there, without me doing anything? What are you trying to do, Kaleigh?"

Kaleigh could feel how their surroundings suddenly tensed up with how much mana Stalane was unconsciously letting out to intimidate him. He knew that this was not the right time nor place but he could not help but to feel amazed at how strong and how large Stalane's potential is.

"Are you trying to test me again? Or are you trying to test Syton this time? No... are you finally revealing yourself as my enemy?" Stalane continuously asked in a threatening manner.

Kaleigh furrowed his brows at her question. "This is a test, you say?"

Stalane awaits his next sentence. She saw how Kaleigh slowly shook his head and how his eyes travel towards the hologram where Syton could be seen.

"There is no way I could even try to test that guy. In fact, it might actually him who would try to test me. It's just that this is all for the best, as I'm sure he'll also agree to my decision"

Kaleigh walked forward where Stalane was, but the latter stepped backward. She aimed her bow towards where Kaleigh is.

"Know this, Stalane. I don't know what or who Syton is for you right now, as things and situations might've changed a lot of factors. But at least believe this, he is someone who will always prioritize you over anything else. It doesn't matter if he do it unconsciously or consciously"

Kaleigh's words made Stalane become confused as she couldn't even hear what his next words are.

"That's why I have to defeat him on that..."

Stalane knew that what Kaleigh said next might've been important but she couldn't think straight to even listen to his next words.

Kaleigh noticed that so he just stopped and faintly smiled.

He sighed and surrendered.

"I guess, you are different. Then, let's do it just like what you say. I'm gonna test you whether you can go where he is or not. If you successfully locate the last gem then I'll stop Plegha. But remember that Syton and the quest's deadline is also one of the things you must keep in mind."

"Do you mean that Plegha does not hold the last gem?"

"The time is ticking, Stalane"

With his words, Stalane immediately ran towards the other direction. She must make sure that she complete this quest.

For now, she'll trust Syton's strength and hope he could last until she finish their quest.
