A few letters were enough to discuss the details of the order with the master unknown to me. According to him, the skin of this chimera, which he classified as a subspecies of the basilisk, was in some respects even superior to that of a dragon, which pleased me greatly. We agreed that in a year or two, this master would make me a standard cut leather suit for a sort of "adventure seeker." More classic and solid options will be quite pretentious because the skin texture remains snakeskin, except that the scales are somewhat larger, and the color is dark green, closer to dark turquoise.
The only thing I ordered now is a jacket. The costume that will be created is somewhat reminiscent of those of Nymphadora and Delphine - boots, vest, jacket. The pants are much more complicated to make, and the leather is only one of the layers, not the outer layer, the middle one, which acts as a diffuser of hostile magic. Why was it decided to do everything a little later? I do not know when the growth of the body will stop, but such material is extremely difficult to runic embroidery with adjustment to the size - what they do will remain almost the same.
The next big issue on the summer agenda was finding the werewolf that bit me. Yes, circumstantial evidence all points to Lupine, but this must be verified. There are not enough spells for this, at least I do not know such, and therefore I had to suffer for a week trying to make a special potion. I took up the preparation of the potion in a house on Grimmauld, in a small laboratory, if you can call that a half-empty room with one cauldron, a couple of tables, and a dozen different chemical-alchemical retorts, pipes, and other distillation equipment. Three attempts came out not good enough, and the worse the potion, the lower the accuracy, but the fourth succeeded in an almost perfect search potion.
To use such a potion properly, I had to enchant a large and detailed map of England in a special way, bought in an ordinary store. The charms are quite simple, and you can't really call them charms - you need to send magic to the map while associating what is written on it with real geographic objects and coordinates. Only on such or similarly enchanted map will the search potion give the desired result.
As soon as I finished with the map, I dropped three drops of blood from the test tube into the vial with the potion, waited until the color changed from translucent gray to red and then to green, and poured the contents of the vial on the enchanted map. The puddle of potion gathered into a rhombic shape, one of its sharp edges indicating the fairly precise position of the target. I had to buy more detailed maps of London, the suburbs, and other towns, just in case. For now, the rhomb was pointing to an empty spot in London - that must be where Alfard Black's house, which Sirius had inherited, was located. After watching the rhomb for a while, I noticed that it would occasionally disappear, disintegrating into a puddle of potion, then forming again, moving rather quickly across the map. I think it's because of the protection of the house.
Who can wander around a house now owned by Sirius? Lupine. Well, from werewolves, of course. In general, everything was confirmed - Lupine bit me. I'd never doubted it before, but still... Hmm. And what to do with it?
It's worth understanding that, judging by some of the entries in various literature, werewolves remember and understand what happens to them during the full moon. Still, they can't really affect anything - their instincts, or some program, take over the mind, but without removing them from the control of the body, no - you change yourself. At least that's how one of the werewolves, whose notes Hermione duplicated to me when she returned from school this year, described this state. What did it mean to me? O-o-o! This means that Lupine is a rather cowardly wizard in some ways. Maybe he was once a good friend or something else, but the known information speaks of a not very good wizard and person.
He abandoned his best friend's son, can't cope with his problems, can't earn money, and always justifies himself with the same problem that he can't solve. While working at Hogwarts, he forgot to drink a potion that is the key to the safety of others and the reason why Dumbledore allowed him to work at all. He bit the student, but at the same time, did not tell anyone, letting everything go by itself. He didn't say anything to anyone. If only I would apologize, I suppose. He could at least apologize or something. Stupid, but at least something.
The third important question is Snape. I must respond symmetrically to what he did. Of course, in addition to him, Dumbledore can also be a Legiliment, but… I don't believe that he would act personally, even if the unreasonable idea of sending me to the Chamber of Secrets in my second year had arisen in his mind. However, the pocket potion maker should play an important role in the conflict of local wizards. His elimination or incapacitation can have an extremely negative and unpredictable effect on events. In any case, Dumbledore will need his own man in the camp of Voldemort, and who can become one, what will be motivated, what actions will he take? Unknown.
Each of my decisive actions can lead to completely unpredictable consequences, which I myself would have to deal with. In the end, it was decided to just watch Snape for now. At least, if he finds his canonical death but manages to survive, I will still help him to pass into the other world.
