Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Dark storm clouds rained red droplets of water, bringing fear over hundreds or yet thousands of creatures in Avalar as The Dark Master has been freed from His Prison of Convexity and went somewhere where he could stay and come up with a plan to bring down everyone to his mercy.

The Dark Master, Or Should I Say Malefor, once a purple dragon with pure heart and mind, was corrupted by the dark energy that is feeding through his negative emotions, was causing havoc and chaos, summoning very ugly, dangerous, destructive creatures at his command with a flick of his claws.

He looked down on the lands below him, his smile is sinister, his eyes are full of malice and evil, his hearts is as cold as stone. The Dark Master smiled creepily bringing chills upon his servants as he went up to a room in what looks like to be a throne room. His dark purple irises scanned the area taking note of each and every one of his servants features.

'Fear, and loyalty, very good.' He thought with a wicked smile as he looked at all the orcs, trolls and other monsters who is kneeling in front of him, waiting for their master's command for the start of the war.

He raised his right paw and all the creatures, big and small, went up to their feet. He took a deep breath and roared a command, which would bring any lesser creatures at his knees , big or small, he will become their ruler and finally, destroy the so called legendary purple dragon that he heard in a so called prophecy. And not to mention the oh so called guardians. And let's not forget, rule this pathetic excuse of a world.

The Monsters roared in return. One by one, they marched out of the room with nothing but their special weapons of their disposal given by the Dark Master, and their souless eyes.

Once nobody was left on the throne room, the Dark Master let his body relaxed for a bit on his throne, his tense muscles loosening. He could feel it, the beginning of an end, and a new world where he could rule with an iron fist. Heh, if only....

Somewhere deep in a hidden part of the forest where amazing creatures roaming freely, unaware of the dangers the Dark Master is causing, are living in perfect harmony. In a one big but comfortable cave, lies a baby dragon with it's two parents, the one in the right snuggled closer to it's new born hatchling who is sounding asleep, snuggled back for warmth for his mother. "Mmmmmmm.." Murmured the sleeping hatchling, causing it's mother to giggle and give a proud stare at his mate.

"He is going to be a great big dragon someday my love." Says his mate as he pulled out a special necklace with small spirit stones acted as decorations around the odd dragon thing, with the word 'NIGHT' at the back of the necklace, putting it on to his newborn child.

"So,- the mother, decided to speak- "have you decided what name should we give it to him, Ragnor?"

The father, or so called 'Ragnor' nodded with a smile and said. " Yes, how about Night?-"

His sentence was interrupted when a sudden explosion erupted, not so far from here. It almost shook the entire forest causing the cave to crumble and tiny rock and debris fell. The loud noise made the little hatchling to cry in fear.

"What was THAT?!" Asked Ragnor as he was about to look outside their home, when suddenly an axe fling past him almost cutting his head in half, weren't for his quick speed and reflexes, he would be dead by that time. He then turned into a defensive stance, protecting along the child and his mate as well.

"Tria, get behind me - "his sentence was cut of short when another axe flung at him, but with swift movement, he quickly fling it back to were it is came from with his tail. He scanned the area for the upcoming attacker but come out none. When everything seems silent, he turned his head to Tria, Continuing his sentence- "Now!!"

Tria did not hesitate to get behind his lover and soon she and the hatchling in her paws was now behind him.

,...

Everything seems to quiet down much to the hatchlings relief, but the sounds of silence was easily destroyed by the marching of orcs and trolls, blocking the only entrance in the cave,(which ironically is kinda the only exit of the cave).

'Holy ancestors, Wha-What are those things?' Ragnor thought as his chances of winning are going little by little, sinking down the drain.

Then, he sensed it.... The evil presence that those foul creatures originate.

'It couldn't be....' Ragnor thought as his eyes widened with surprise.

Ragnor channeled the magic within his body and focused it on the two horns in his head, little by little, the amount of magic that is building up on his horns continue to grow until a tiny speck of white light illuminates on each of the tip of his horns.

With a growl, he released his magic infused horn in a beam like projectile, he aimed it towards the uninvited guests that seems to block their entrance.

What seems that be the leader of the army that raided the cave, noticed the dragon's attack smiled and raised his axe that gives of a completely chilling aura. With one swing, he completely deflected the dragon's attack, the direction of the deflected beam heading directly towards the dragon himself.

Ragnor widened his eyes and countered the incoming attack with his own, powering up more magic on his horns and let it out loosed again, hoping to intercept the counter-attack that the Orc did. The two attacks collide, which resulted in a blinding white light, Ragnor, covering his and his mate and hatchling.

'How is that even possible?! They deflected my magic with just a merely old weapo--' Then he noticed. He should've known that the weapon that they held wasn't ordinary. The weapon that they held also generated an incredibly evil aura that makes him shiver in fear.

'This is not working, I have to come up a the another plan...'

He tried to come up of an idea, but his thoughts were interrupted when an orc tried to pounce on him, but quickly killed it with his elemental breath..

"Tria!" Shouted Ragnor as he swatted another incoming axe that flung at him.

"Go to the back of the cave, and activate the portal Immediately!" Ordered Ragnor As he was fighting more trolls and orcs that are coming closer to him and Tria.

"No I will not!"Tria said as she put the hatchling, away from the battlefield, and joined her beloved mate.

"But if you stay here any longer me, you or our hatchling will be in harms way, or worse!" Argued the father as he slashed another orc at his back with his claws that looks like it was covered in light energy.

"but-" Tria tried to reason with his mate but then they heard the terrified cries of their hatchling.

Then the image of her dead hatchling in her paws sent a shiver in her body. She couldn't do it though, leaving her mate to these horrible creatures, but she couldn't also let her hatchling be on harms way...

"Go!!!!! NOW!!!" Ragnor said looking at his mate with determination in his eyes. He created a light barrier between him and the attackers just enough time to do one last thing to his mate, "I'll see you on the other side my love....". He then closed his distance with Tria and gave her a passionate kiss that felt like it lasted for centuries. Sadly, he ended the kiss and went back to face the attackers, his sheild held, but not for long when he saw a hairline crack in its surface.

"Go.... Now, I'll buy you some time to escape. " Ragnor took a glance to Tria. "Please, do it for our hatchling.... And me."

Tria hesitated, but decided to trust her mate, for even they joined forces, they could be easily outnumbered, and then overpowered...

Tria, turned tail and picked up her hatchling, and ran with amazing speed through the dark tunnels of the cave.

Midway through the cave, she could still hear the swords smashing and the axes slashing and started to worry for her mate, but she kept an open mind that he will be fine (she hoped), for he is a White dragon, a special race of dragons that can wield unusual powers with different abilities.

Tria doesn't know who or why he is a White Dragon because when they first met, they were still young. He was unconscious in a forest not far from where they are, and when he finally woke up, she asked him who he is. But he came out none. He seemed to lost his memory except for his name, Ragnor, and thus, Tria decided to help him, beginning their first step on becoming friends, then to best friends, and so on....

------------

She remembered the day when she saw him used an unusual power in the forest when they were hunting alone in one particular afternoon, just before sunset. You see, Tria is homeless, she didn't know who or what her parents are, and why would they leave her. She was all alone, but then he came.

Tria couldn't believe her eyes when she saw what Ragnor did. When they were hunting, Tria got sliced in her right hind leg with a very sharp pointed rock. The cut was deep, too deep, in fact blood started to leak out of it. Of course they both panicked and they tried to call for help, but remembered that they were all alone in the forest. They could attract some non-friendly creatures.

Tria cried because it hurts so much, her injured leg felt like it was burning.

Tria looked at Ragnor and asked if he knows any other way to help heal her leg. Of course Ragnor tried other things, he tried to find any herbs that would probably seal the cut. But it might take a while and Tria's life is on the line. Plus even though he choose to find the herbs, she wouldn't want to be left alone in this scary woods. So he just laid right beside her wrapping his tail to Tria's cut to stop the bleeding, assuring her that everything will be alright.

Seconds turned into minutes, minutes became hours, and still they spot no sign of help.

It was almost night time, the sun has almost set and the forest became scary and scary, and he felt her shiver probably because of the cold, so he draped his wing over her body to warm her up. This sudden action made Tria hot and blood rose to her cheeks. Since his wingspan is big compared to other young dragons, it reached down towards her hind legs. Then the magic began.

When his wings touched the injury on Tria, his wings starts to glow brighter and brighter, they were mesmerized by his wings, they didn't noticed that the cut that Tria received was there no more. At first Tria was shocked and looked at Ragnor with questionable and amazement looks. Of course Ragnor didn't have any idea and just shrugged.

Standing up Ragnor faced Tria and told her to get up and come home with him. Its really dark now so they probably need each other for support.

But before Ragnor could do a single action with his muscle, He didn't expect Tria to do something that will change their lives forever. She kissed him. (^_^)

Ragnor was shocked. So shocked that he forgotten to breath. If it weren't for Tria apologizing, he would have died due to the lack of oxygen. He looked at her, rubbing his front legs bashfully before coughing.

She looked at him and realised that its a signal for them to go home. Of course they turned tail and started to navigate through the forest, but before they did that, Tria couldn't help it but give Ragnor another peck on the cheek. This sudden action earned Both of them a blush, but only this time Ragnor isn't, shy. In fact he had a goofy grin on his face, but quickly mentally slapped himself when Tria was looking at him again. And so they walked out of the forest together, his wings still wrapped on Tria's back for her warmth.

------------

Tria smiled sadly, a tear escaped from her eyes. She could still remember that day like it was yesterday.

He may be the first and probably the last White Dragon remaining,

With the exception of their hatchling who's scale color is white, hopefully, Ragnor may be able to defeat them, if he is lucky....

But luck was never in her side for the screams of his beloved mate echoed in the caved into her ears.

Ignoring the screams of her dying mate and focusing on running, she managed to get to the deepest part of the cave with tearful eyes. The deepest part of the cave is beautiful because of its different types of crystals covering over the walls, which is the mana batteries were the so called portal need it to be activated.

But this is no time for sight seeing, for the sounds of footsteps are getting closer, and closer by the second.

Quickly she gathered all the necessary things That are needed for the long and possibly dangerous journey ahead of her and her hatchling.

'Okay....time to-gahh!!!!' She screamed as a troll stabbed her back.

Shaking her back to rid of the troll, the troll hang on for dear life as his sword dug deeper to the dragoness now wounded back.

The dragoness gave a deadly glare before covering her scales with some sort of ice armor that can't be easily be broken by the troll's weapon.

Before the troll could do anything, Tria Swatted the troll over her back with her tail and froze it with her icy breath. Gasping to herself she started to find her hatchling. But.... The sword that was in her back got stuck because of the ice armor.

Noticing the blood that has been dripping in her back, she realized that she may lost too much blood and thus got a bit dizzy. Her world is spinning around her like a top. Her head feels like it was pounded by a giant clawed hammer. She feels so light-headed. How? It was just a few minutes that the sword stabbed her, then it hit her. The sword was radiating with dark energy, the energy must be draining her stamina!

"Ggggaaah...." Tria then collapsed to the ground with a thud, the darkness that is starting to take over her vision feels so good. So welcoming. Her vision is fading, her eyelids are closing, and before she can fully close her eyes and finally rest in peace, she heard the voice of her mate, the voice of her beloved Ragnor.

' Don't give up Tria, please wake up and find your-- our son.'

Ragnor's voice echoed through her head, thus stopping her eyelids from completely closing. Was she hearing things? If she is, she might be losing it due to the immense blood loss.

But then, something unbelievable happened. Right in front of her, there was a blinding flash of white light, the light is to bright she had ti cover her eyes with her paws so that she couldn't get blonde by it.

After that scenery, she opened her eyes and was shocked by what she saw. She saw a familiar figure that made her heart flutter with joy. She saw Ragnor walking towards her, albeit his appearance is faint. Was she hallucinating?

'Remember what you said before when we just became mates?' Ragnor's voice continued to echo through her head.

----------------------

'You said-'

~ I will promise from this day on, our family will never break apart, I will not let anything destroy this love we share~

' You spoke those words as if your trying to protect our family from forever breaking apart, which it will happen now if you don't find our son.'

Tria shook her head, whether she was hallucinating or not she agrees with him. This is not the Tria she knows, the TRUE her will fight and protect her family untill the very end. She may be weak before, but now she was strong, and it is all thanks to her mate, her Ragnor. Her love.

She turned her head and went to look at him again, but instead there was nothing... Could it be that she's hallucinating after all? No, it cannot be.. It must be Ragnor, it must be his undying love for her and her hatchling.

With new found determination she lifted herself up and did a silent prayer to the ancestors, thanking them for protecting her and giving her one last chance to see Ragnor in the living again.

Then she remembered something, something dear in her life, that she will die trying to protect it from harm or in some cases, death. Her son.

"My hatchling...where are you?...." Though her vision may be blurry, she does not need to see for she let her mate's ghost guide her the way.

It took a while, but she had finally found her child, who somehow activated the portal.

'But how?' Tria looked at her son and back to the portal. Her hatchling gave her a gummy smile showing her that he still have no teeth. She had no idea for what just happen, but pushed those thoughts away for time is running out.

Quickly, she picked up the hatchling with her paws and give him a great hug of sorrow. "I'm sorry my little*cough* hatchling, but I cannot be with you any longer." Her sentence, was cut of short when the hatchling put his paw on Tria's muzzle, smiling.

Continuing her sentence and smiled, " I love you my child, and I wish we-*cough* could spend more-*cough* time with you, but we can't, you have a great journey, ahead of you, and *cough* *cough* danger will find it's way to you,* cough* but remember, we will be always with you, no matter what." For now she is coughing blood and a little droplet of it landed on the necklace of her child.

The necklace glowed a little light just as it absorbed the blood from Tria before dying out.

Whether her child understands, or just playing with her, she let out a few tears of sorrow and gave one last hug before she put down the hatchling.

"Now go my little one.....*cough*" She forced a smile as her child tilted his head in curiosity not knowing what her mother meant. So she decided to do something, she started pushing him towards the portal.

For like 3 pushes he finally got the message (or she hoped so) and went through the portal, leaving behind her mother, who is crying from sadness and with a heavy heart, destroyed all the mana batteries that surrounded the cave, thus closing the portal completely....

Sighing to herself, the determination finally gone, she then focused on the footsteps that are now closing in. Remembering what her loved one said, she will never back down without a fight.

For mere moments, the cave where she had been lying was silent, then out of nowhere, different kinds of creatures burst through the walls, surrounding the now wounded dragon. Their wicked smiles are more sinister when they realised that their prey has been weakened.

The feeling of adrenaline came back to her like a tidal wave, making her able to stand up and glare daggers at the creatures surrounding her.

"I may be out numbered..." She started to cover her entire body with ice armor. "I may be overpowered-" she looked at all the enemies that are circling her, Continuing her sentence-" but I'm never going down without a fight."

An orc smiled sinisterly and pounced on the back of the dragon with incredible speed, but she was faster due to the pumping of adrenaline all over her body, and thus swiped the orc away into the wall with her ice covered claws.

She could have sworn she heard a 'crack' just when the creature came in contact with the wall. It was then after like five seconds, the orc fell and didn't move and come to think of it, green liquid began forming around the creature.

Smiling to herself, she faced the now angered mob of different evil creatures. Rearranging her posture and stance to get a better grip on this situation, she started to glow brighter and brighter.

"Now...." She took a step forward towards her enemies. "Who wants to go next?"
