The Board of Directors were gathered in the conference hall of Orton Enterprises. The Two Head chairs at the opposite ends were empty for the representatives of both the companies Orton Consortium and Greene Enterprises. This there were two major partners, Greene and Orton family. The project was talk of town even before it got started and every step was crucial. This board meeting was conducted to assign the leadership of different parameters.
Avik entered with Ursula and Sam following him. He took the Head Chair of Ortons and Ursula occupied the right chair beside him, whereas Sam stood in his left. Hush discussion was seized as soon as Avik entered. While the atmosphere was tensed another leader entered in the heavy atmosphere. Except Avik all the head turned towards Lupert in respect. As soon as Lupert's eyes met Avik, both of them gave a courtesy bow as the Head of two powerful consortiums.
Lupert was followed by his Secretary who took the similar position as Sam. After everyone settled Avik introduced Ursula as the new PR head for the project, who was accepted based on her merits and previous work done.
One of the board Member spoke while going through the proposal "Are we discussing the new Marketing strategy for the project so early?"
"the project hasn't been started properly yet, why are we in rush, people might forget after so long when the project is ready" another one pitched in.
Whisperings were heard throughout the board room but it was silent as soon as Avik sneered "Where is the person who proposed this point?"
Hearing an insulting tone of words for his daughter Lupert gave a stern look to Avik which was ignored. But before there be a start of another war, a delicate figure in Champagne attire entered holding a file with few papers stuffed in it.
As soon as Avik saw the familiar figure he wanted to meet desperately, there was a serene calmness spread in him also a surprise look in his eyes which he covered very well under his cold gaze.
There was a strange feeling in him, he wanted to hold this little fairy and capture her in his arms forever. Her beautiful palm size face was incomparable. This formal attire which sticks to her perfect curves were arousing the beast in him, but her clear and mist eyes was keeping a hold on him. These feelings were unsettled when his wandering thoughts were interrupted by Lupert's heavy voice
"Dignitaries, this is my beloved daughter Kiara Greene"
As soon as this sentence was out, there were loud gasp of surprise from all the members.
Was this the spoiled princess of Greene family?
Was this the rumoured monstrous and ugly girl people were afraid
Was this the good for nothing brat who knows nothing but only to burn the assets?
Heck rumours can't be reliable, reality is too shocking. Except Ursula and Lupert every single member was in a state of shock, the most bizarre one was the cold-hearted person who occupied the Head chair.
Avik's thoughts was jumbled, he was in a state of shock but his cold demeanour covered him well. This wasn't the Kiara he expected. He knows that wild girl, he saw her mean ways, he is well aware of her. The girl in front of him is too different, not only her looks and attire even her aura seems different. There is a strange warm feeling one get when look into that clear mist eyes of her. No way is this girl that wild Kiara Greene he knew back then.
A confident and warm voice was heard breaking everyone from daze, "Good morning everyone, I am Kiara Greene. I will discuss the Marketing strategy for the upcoming plan"
As if calculating her steps Avik interrupted, "Miss.Greene, if you need attention for yourself there are many ways. It's too early for you to discuss the strategy now. I aspect you not to waste our time. People here seriously need to work"
Lupert knew this would be the reaction of everyone, he is also not very sure of Kiara's plan, nothing was discussed but he loves his dearest daughter and these bitter words spoken just now bought out the overprotective father inside him. Before he can shut everyone, he was interrupted by his daughter.
"I hope Mr. Avik Orton must be aware that this would be the perfect time to capture the thoughts of an individuals and mold it into a perfect mindset which will give us a push when we launch the completion of this project."
These words captured his attention more, one of the board members sneered in disgust, "Miss.Greene you are right but let the eligible people present the strategic plan for the same"
"And what makes you think I am not eligible?" there was a certain confident smile on her face but more then that it was the penetrating eyes which were challenging towards each person who might go against her.
Don't want things to go uglier, Ursula interrupted "why don't we let Kiara present her plan and then we speak further?" looking more pleadingly towards her own brother.
Confused with this personality Avik nodded in allowing the board members to agree as well, he knew Kiara will goof up things now and then he can very well throw her out with reasons, not giving any chance to Lupert to protect his daughter here. He always deeply respects each member of Greene family, to certain extent he can even stand Jennifer for some time. But Kiara is altogether different case. He hates this girl since the beginning but something turned inside him today. He wants to be proven wrong by her, erasing all thoughts he focused towards the screen along with all board members.
Lupert just hope that things can settle well, he was happy Kiara took an initiative to work. He always loved this daughter way too much. If giving this project to her makes her happy he is ready to endure loss. He just wants his little Kiara to be happy.
Ursula knew Kiara has some good ideas as she discussed few points with her before, too bad she couldn't talk to her last evening. She could have given few remainders or might correct somewhere. Kiara wasn't good in these parts especially work related. But her recent changes made Ursula change her perspective towards her. Ursula knew this Kiara won't get this project but at least she has a chance to present and start from somewhere. Believing her thoughts Ursula looked towards the screen.
