Chapter 9 - Be Responsible

"Are you defending him, doctor?"

"I am. Because you are being rude to him, and he's not in the wrong here," Jiah wanted to kill that woman, who was her parents' doctor, but she took a deep breath and stared at Dr. Jihye's beautiful face.

"Are you his girlfriend?"

"What? Hell no!" She said as if that was an offense.

"Then fuck off. You can get the fuck out of here now, Park Seojin. I'm here now. My sister is here. You're not needed anymore. Go to your home and take your parents with you. We'll take care of our family. Don't come here while we here either."

He looked from Aerin, who was in his arms, to Jiah, without believing what she just said. "Your sister is weak. She's sick and she fainted. Are you going to take care of your parents and your two siblings at the same time? Alone?"

"I am. And I am serious. Now get out, I don't want to see you here."

Seojin and Dr. Jihye shared a confused gaze before staring at Jiah again. "Why do you hate me, Miss Choi?"

She chuckled angrily. "I hate everyone who made my siblings suffer. The list is enormous talking about my sister, and you're on the fucking top of it. If you're not even able to understand why I hate you, it's one more motive for me to hate you. Now, piss off."

He swallowed hard and now the confused one was Jihye.

"Where do I leave her, Dr. Jihye?" Seojin asked, looking at Aeri unconscious, who he was still carrying in his arms.

"Come with me. You may stay here, Miss Choi, I'll take your sister to another room, and then I'll come to talk to you," Jiah nodded, still mad.

"She didn't eat anything since we left the US. My sister is the most stubborn person on earth, she was desperate, but we tried giving her some food on the jet and when we left the airport. However, she could only think about our parents and our brother who was in surgery," she told her, exasperated.

The doctor nodded and then she left with them, closing the door, leaving Jiah alone with her unconscious dad.

Seojin left Hyeonjung's room dumbfounded, still processing how Jiah treated him, but not blaming her, who was just being protective towards her sister. His parents ran to him when they saw Aeri unconscious in his arms. "What happened to her?" His mother asked worriedly.

"She fainted when I told her about her father's state. But her sister told us that she was already weak because she hadn't eaten anything since she got the news about the accident," dr. Jihye told them.

They looked at her, who looked peaceful in their son's arms, and then his mom passed her fingers through Aeri's long red hair. "Who sees this girl like this, would never imagine the feral beast she actually is."

All of them nodded and then Seojin said, "Jiah was mad when she saw me there. She asked me to get out and to bring you with me. I'm sorry, mom, dad... I know you're both worried about them, but she's their daughter so we have to go."

"It's okay. She must hate you because you slept with Aeri, right?" His mother exclaimed, making him blush and Dr. Jihye stared at him shocked. "And-"

"Let the kids resolve themselves alone, babe," his father intervened, not letting his mother finish what she was going to say, making her sigh.

"Okay, okay. Anyways, let's get this girl to a room and ask another doctor to look at her."

Dr. Jihye nodded and asked him to leave her in room 310, then she asked Dr. Kim Minjee, who was having lunch in the reception to examine her. Seojin recognized the girl, once he saw her at school and in college, and she also recognized him and Aeri.

"Oh my god, what happened to Aeri?"

"She fainted," he said and she stared at him.

"That I can see. She came like a storm inside the hospital, she thought I was a nurse working in reception, so she yelled at me to give her the damn papers so she could sign them. She was desperate to see her parents and brother," the doctor seemed tired.

"Do you know each other, too?" Dr. Jihye asked and she nodded.

"Yes. We studied together. Me, her, and Park Seojin. Not that she would remember me, but anyways. What was the cause for her to faint?" He felt the sarcasm in her voice.

"She didn't eat anything since she left the US according to what her sister told us."

"Did you see the little one?" Minjee questioned.

"Who?" He and Dr. Jihye spoke together, without knowing what she was talking about and how that related to Aeri.

"Well, it doesn't matter," Minjee brushed the matter aside. "So, Aeri must have fainted because of the food, plus the stress. You can go, I'll take care of her. Tell her sister that I'm the one who's here, she'll be calmer."

"Take good care of her," Seojin asked and she nodded, uninterested, then he left with Jihye.

"What did you do to Aeri to make Jiah hate you like that, dude?" He knew that was coming.

"Well, shortly, that girl loved me since kindergarten, and I never saw her, at all. Then after years, in our last ball at high school, two days before graduation, some shit happened and I ended up in her house. We slept together. But I was kinda drunk so I don't remember clearly what happened, and maybe I called my ex's name and as I never noticed Aeri before that night, I may have asked who the fuck she was. She told me to get out of her house and then she vanished from the country for eight years. Until today. And I only really discovered who she truly was a year ago," [I know, I was a jerk!]

She stared at him as if he had committed a crime, and he kind of did. "Damn, I get it now. And I would fucking hate you too."

"Believe me, I hate myself for that."

"Dumbass. You should be responsible for what you did. You know that, right?" Jihye slapped him on the back of his head before leaving and going over to Jiah.
