A slender purple scaled serpentine creature with golden eyes was reflected in the boy's own of the same luster. While swaying it's small head from side to side, the young boy noticed that there were many more stones, similar to the one which the creature emerged from, just behind it. The noise of these 'stones' cracking resonated around the boy, and he quickly noticed that he was actually surrounded. He had walked into a snake nest.
It did not take long before there was a mass of slithering bodies covering his feet. The feeling of the many scales across his ankles and feet started to hurt the boy, and a strange feeling rose up in his stomach. The boy's stomach started to growl and somehow, he knew he was hungry. A strong urge to consume one of the creatures that were in front of him compelled the boy to pick one up.
As he picked up the snake, it began to squirm furiously, wanting to let go and return to the warmth of its siblings. The boy's pupils turned into slits and his golden eyes started to glow. The fist that was was holding the purple snake just below the head squeezed tightly and the snake's movements halted. As soon as that happened, all the other snakes' movements stopped as well.
The boy brought the the dead snake to his mouth and bit of its head. The strength of the boy's jaw, and hardness of his teeth far surpassed that of the newborn snake's scales and bones. The boy swallowed the mass of bones and meat, when some green misty boxes appeared in front of his eyes again.

The boy could read the words, but couldn't put understanding to them quite yet. However, a warm feeling surrounded his body and he felt that it was something that should happen again. So, he reached down toward the group of snakes that were now moving away from him. Since there were no more near him, the boy moved and quickly crushed a snake's head into ground instantly killing it.

The boy frowned because it wasn't exactly the same feeling as before. He quickly remembered that he had put the snake from before in his mouth to induce the pleasant feeling. Just as he was about to put his second kill into his mouth, there was a sharp pain that shot up the boy's leg from his ankle. He looked down and saw another snake had bitten him, and the boxes that appeared in front of him this time were red.

The boy's eyes widened with surprise, he didn't like this new feeling. His movements seemed sluggish and his eyesight blurred slightly. The boy gritted his teeth as a new emotion surged into him: Anger. He reached down and grabbed the snake that had bitten him and immediately crushed its head in his hand. After he took both snakes that were in his hands and shoved them into his mouth. To the boys delight, slightly easing his newfound anger, a new string of green misty boxes appeared in front of his eyes.

After the box that stated 'You have leveled up' appeared, power surged through the boy's body. He smiled and looked at the rest of the snakes that were now circling him. To his surprise, the first snake he saw hatch, and coincidentally the only one with golden eyes that matched his, slithered up next to him and hissed at the others of its kind.
The boy felt a connection with this snake in particular, and didn't have the same feeling to eat this one as he had with all the others. The snake seemed to also have this feeling, and it wanted to fight the other snakes with this boy to become stronger.
There seemed to be a standstill between the mass of newborn snakes and the pair of boy and the golden eyed snake. However, that quickly came to an end as soon as one snake got close, the golden eyed snake lashed out and bit into its enemy's head. It was a clean kill, but this just sparked the rage of the others in the surroundings. The sea of tangled bodies started to surround the duo and a battle broke out.
The boy was still poisoned, but with the large mass of snakes, he didn't have to try hard to grab and squeeze the snakes dead. With every snake he killed, there would be a box that would appear stating he received EXP. Every chance he got, the boy would shove what he could of the dead snakes into his mouth to activate the DNA Assimilation skill.
The snakes did bite him and decreased his HP, but every time he gained enough EXP, he would get the level up box and his condition improved significantly. Every bite that he received contained poison and eventually he got a box that said he gained poison resistance which helped alleviate the symptoms the poison of the snakes gave him.
The boy quickly came to realize that he would have to save eating the snakes for later and started to use his entire body to crush, strangle, bite, kick, and punch everything in his way. The golden eyed snake was a great help as it seemed to grow faster as it killed its kin. The slaughter raged on, and soon night fell. With it, rain came and washed away the blood and gore as the boy finally fell back onto his butt having achieved victory. He looked at his snake companion that coiled around his arm and smiled while now focusing his attention on the big blue box that displayed the most information.
