Chapter 6 - Apologize!

"I said, hey! Are you deaf?"

Leticia pulled the man's collar closer to her face without a second waste.

"What the-?!"

The man did not expect the lady to do such a daring move to him, thus made him quite surprised. And with the sudden turn of events, his hood fell to the back of his neck, revealing his well structured face to her.

Their eyes intertwined with only inches away and a familiar scene flashed back through Leticia's mind.

Leticia's eyes turned wide in shock because the man in front of her had the same vermillion hair with crimson red eyes, just like the one she had met not long ago.

It's him! Why is he here?

She immediately loosened her grip and subconsciously took a step back.

However, she realized that if she showed even the slightest bit of strange movements, this guy might become suspicious of her.

She's afraid that her abrupt act of retreat might give a hint to the man to recognize that she was the one with him back then. And it terrified her as he is with the army.

Thus, Leticia tried to compose herself, calmed her heart and mind, and faced the man directly straight into his eyes.

"Don't you have anything to say?" said Leticia. Although, she may look brave on the outside, her knees were ready to give out at any moment.

Dylan, on the other hand, couldn't seem to look away from her. It was as if he forgot how to do so. This woman's eyes seem to captivate him.

"..."

Dylan did not respond which made Leticia furrowed her brows in confusion. However, seeing that there were no signs of movement from him, Leticia didn't dare bother anymore. She took this chance to turn around and flee as she fully released her grip from his collar.

Dylan only stared at her, and she took it as if he already saw through her. Afraid that her identity is already exposed, she quickened her strides hoping he will not chase after her.

If she could avoid interacting with him even for a second, she would not hesitate to do it. She could only hope that he wouldn't recognize her.

Unfortunately for Leticia, Dylan finally came to his senses when he saw the lady turn her back on him. He didn't know what got into him to make him stare at her for too long.

How insolent!

He then quickly grab Leticia on the wrist.

"You've got some nerve, woman." Dylan said menacingly. Although, he wasn't loud, his tone was domineering and cold.

"That hurts! Can you let go of me?!" Leticia's heartbeat quickened when he felt Dylan's arm on her wrist. She could only continue to act strong now to avoid suspicions.

"You're brave. You have no knowledge whom you're speaking to, don't you?"

"Huh? No, why should I?"

Dylan's eyebrows twitch. He was surprised. To be honest, he is a little bit narcissist. Up until today, it never came to his mind that there is still someone who doesn't know of his valor. Thus, he concluded that everyone knows about him.

Why should you? This question had struck him big time.

How dare you.

A small smile crept on his face. It was a smile of disbelief. However, he couldn't tolerate her acting arrogant in his presence.

"Very well. In that case, I'll have you come with me."

"Excuse me?"

"I will teach you history and learn about the great hero of Erstonia Empire. Only then you will know who I am."

"I appreciate the offer, but I'm afraid I'll have to decline." Leticia said as she pushed away Dylan's hand that was grabbing her.

"And why is that?"

"Look here Mister! I do not have any reason to follow a stranger who doesn't even know how to apologize for bumping into a lady causing her to fall down the ground and hurt herself, do I?"

Leticia couldn't believe how outrageous this guy is acting right now. If it were not because of her laying low to avoid suspicion, she would've already punched him in the face. Had she known he is this kind of person, she wouldn't have even bothered caring for him back at the cave.

Dylan was speechless. This lady dared to disobey him.

"And besides, I don't want to know you either. Look what you did to me?" Leticia pointed on her reddish wrist. Dylan was grabbing her so tightly enough to leave a bruise.

"Not only did you not apologize, but you're also forcing me to come with you against my will! This is called kidnapping!"

Dylan was stunned. This is the first time in his life a woman shut him up not just once, but twice in a single day.

Leticia was purposely raising her voice for the people to hear and fortunately for her, it worked. A decent amount of people has earned their attention. She was hoping that by doing so she could escape from this rude man.

Dylan on the other hand, was avoiding this. He was in his incognito walk to investigate the Witch of Misery. He couldn't afford to be spotted here and blow his cover. And seeing all these people, all he could do now is look down and groan in silent, like a cowardly lion.

Leticia took this chance to speak again. And with a somewhat disgusted look, she said...

"Apologize!"

To be honest, she herself couldn't believe that she had this kind of personality. And what's worst is that she's starting to like it.

"What?" Dylan answered with one eyebrow raised.

"What do you mean what? Isn't it just right for you to apologize for your wrong doings? Or is it that you don't want to because your pride won't allow you? Hah! Some gentleman you are."

What an arrogant woman! If not because of these people, I would've sliced you into pieces! Dylan was gritting his teeth in rage.

He then slightly bent forward and started apologizing.

"I am very sorry for my discourtesy, my lady. I hope you show mercy and pardon for what I have done to you." Dylan didn't want to apologize and lower his head to this commoner. However, he prioritized escaping these watchful eyes rather than keeping his pride at the moment. He can deal with her once everything is settled with his investigation. He will find her and give her a punishment worst than death.

However, what came after made him speechless yet again.

" l don't want to. You need to compensate for the damage I suffered both physically and emotionally." Leticia dropped the bomb.
