After Yu Ling bathed and got ready, she used her technique to turn back into an old lady and brought Kana with her to the ceremonial grounds. It was a place where all elders held their master disciple ceremonies. In other sects, such things were normally held in private or just in front of the sect master, but in this sect, the act of an elder taking on a disciple was a huge event that was held in front of the entire sect.
When Kana and Yu Ling arrived at the ceremonial grounds there was a huge crowd of people ranging in the tens of thousands. They were all gathered below a large stage where all the hundred or so elders were sitting as well as the sect master himself.
Behind the stage were ten tall statues, each depicting a person wielding a sword. "Kana, the statues there are all statues of the previous sect masters."
