The Kana and the rest stood right outside the cave entrance and already could hear sounds of screams coming from within. Mei Ling shrunk back and held on to Kana's arm. Kana looked at the young girl and reached out and patted her head while saying: "We will be fine." Mei Ling looked up at Kana. She did not know why but when she saw Kana's soft smile and warm gaze, she felt that things truly would be okay.
The group entered the cave with Yi Tan taking the lead. Liu Na took the rear with the others in the middle. The scent of blood was thick in the air and made Kana's nose wrinkle. As they progressed further in, streaks of blood could be seen on the ground. Some were still fresh and came from empty rooms dug out of the walls on the left and right of the passage.
