Why did the name sound familiar?
"The man in the video… it is him," Madison said. "And… and from what you've just told me about the texts… It seems like something he could send. But I don't understand… he… Skylar and Max weren't in touch."
"Well, it looks like Skylar wasn't but Max sure did want to be," said Detective Gage.
A part of my mind was listening to the conversation between them but another part of it was still trying to figure out where I had heard the name Max before.
"Okay, Ms. Cooper… Can you give us his full name? And his address? And every piece of information that you have on this… Max?"
"Yes." Madison nodded.
And then it hit me, like a burst of a memory pocket in my brain. Max Jones. He was the same person Skylar had asked Alec about that day and when I confronted her about it, she… she didn't give me anything.
"Mr. Parker?"
