After spending the entire day with Maddy trying to cheer her up, it was now time to get going. The office hours at the Spectator had ended 15 minutes ago. In about another hour or so, Jeremy would have been home.
Before leaving her, I assured Maddy that I will check up on Jeremy. After getting into the car, I gave Leonard Jeremy's address and asked him to drive me there. I tried calling him to inform him about my visit but each time the call went straight to voicemail.
"We're here," Leonard informed me once he stopped the car outside Jeremy's building.
"I won't be long," I said to him and got out of the car.
Putting all my thoughts at bay I entered the building and went straight for the elevator. It opened up on the 4th floor and I made my way towards Jeremy's apartment and upon reaching apartment no. 410, I knocked on the door.
"Jeremy?" I called out as I knocked again.
