After parting ways with Jeremy in a seemingly awkward manner, I asked Leonard to take me to Jordan's apartment. I knew that Jordan wasn't going to be there and that I could get in, fetch my laptop and get out. Rob, Maddy's right-hand man at the cafe, was still on leave and Maddy needed all the help that she could get at the cafe.
As I entered the elevator in Jordan's building, I dropped a text to Maddy saying that I will be at the cafe in an hour.
The doors to the elevator opened into his apartment and I hurried in. The thoughts from my conversation with Jeremy were weighing me down. I could not believe what I had accused him of. There was no justification good enough for it. If anything, I think I might have made matters between him and Maddy even worse if that was possible.
