"What happened?" I asked, unable to control myself.
A heavy and long sigh escaped his mouth and I knew I should stop talking.
"I'm-I'm sorry. I shouldn't ask. It's none of my business, I know." I turned away from him and straightened my back against the mattress.
A minute passed by and neither of us spoke another word.
"Rose, our childhood.. mine and Jo's.. it wasn't.. let's just say it wasn't what you'd think it was and I don't like to talk about it," he said with a hint of pain in his voice.
A part of me wanted to know what had happened all those years ago. I knew that Parker Enterprises was a separate venture which Jordan had started all by himself without any help from his father, Michael Parker, but what I didn't know was what had happened between them which prompted Jordan to break all ties with ME Corps.
Did it have something to do with his past?
