Chapter 7 - Questions ~Luna~

I jumped at the sound of my alarm ringing, "sorry." I said shutting it off. "I actually need to get ready to go." Finished.

I couldn't help but notice the look of disappointment in his face. Just then i remembered what my uncle said.

"Oh and Luna, If your familiar does come to you, you should bring them to your blessing ceremony."

I smiled taking Demetri's hand. Electricity coursed through my veins. " I'm still new around here. Walk me home, i wanna talk to you."

I seen his face light up, "sure, let me just let my ma know." He said pulling out his phone. He quickly typed out a message then turned back to me. "Ok all set."

I walked out of the clearing, still holding onto Demetri's hand leading him back towards my house. We walked comfortably in silence, until it dawned on me.

"Hey you never answered my question," i started, looking at Demetri. His eyes found mine and raised a brow. "What were you doing out here?"

He made an O with his mouth then chuckled. "Long story short, my mom was having company and i didn't wanna be bothered. I was running when-" he stopped short. The look on his face said he wasn't sure if he should say what came next.

"Well?" I said raising an eye brow.

"I smelled conches and i swore i heard someone calling me." His gaze shifted from mine. "I probably sound crazy."

I chuckled to myself more or less. " Meteri, I'm a Bruja, and you're a werewolf," i said grazing my hand with his. Sparks lit my fingers, "nothing sounds crazy."

"You know you never answer my question either." He said smirking at me. It was my turn to raise my brow. "Do you believe in fate?"

Stopping mid stride, i contemplated my answer. The question seemed loaded, but as a searched his face i knew he only asked sincerely. "I'm starting to."

My breath hitches in my throat at his next question, "Luna, what were you doing out here?"

I slowly began to walk again looking up into the night sky at the moon. "I was calling for someone."

Demetri's suddenly jerked to a stop. I turned to look at him. "Luna what is this?" He questioned. I couldn't meet his gaze focusing of this right wrist he was examining.

For a moment, voice seemed foreign to me. I couldn't find the words to tell him what mark he now bared. That by fate, he was chosen to be tied to me forever.

I wanted to speak but nothing would come out. Before i knew it Demetri was standing in front of me. His strong forefinger under my chin gently forcing me to look him in his face.

I nearly got lost in the sea, which was his eyes."Luna," he breathed softly, tickling my lips. I could smell his scent of pine and slight musk.

My knees buckled, as my heart took flight, "The familiars mark" my voice cracked.

"What?" He said searching my face for answers.

"Remember i told you today was my Blessings," he nodded at my question. "Well on my day of blessings I'm suppose to have a familiar. Normally one would show themselves to you well before your 18th birthday, but mine didnt. So i tried a summoning canto."

"Ok," he said still quizzical. "So when you went to summon your familiar-" he started but i coir him off finishing the thought.

"It must have summoned you." I said looking away from him. "I must have done something wrong" i said as we continued our walk.

My house came into view and i glanced down at my watch again. I still had an hour until i needed to be at the circle.

"Hey," i started turning to him after unlocking the back door. The house was dark, so i knew my uncle must already be heading for the circle. "Would you like to come in?"

A smile slowly lit up his face as he nodded casually. I stepped across the threshold and he followed me into the dark kitchen. I flipped on the light, the book of Cantos still sitting on the kitchen table. I walked over to the book tapping the spine with my index.

"Is something wrong?" I heard Demetri's voice asked laced in concern.

I looked up at him and smiled, then shook my head.  With a wave of my hand the book flipped open, pages flying. I couldn't help but steal a glance a Demetri's wide eye expression.

"Never seen magic before?" I asked raising an eye brow raising a brow .

"I've never had a wi-"

"Bru-" i started crossing my arms in defense, raising my chin.

"BRUJA...I've never had a bruja friend before" he said quickly correcting himself. A smile hinted his lips, "what are you looking for?"

"The canto i said to summon...well you i guess," i mumbled. He walked over, and glanced over my shoulder. His closeness made my heart slam against my rib cage.

"There aren't any words on the pa-" but then he stopped short. "Woah." He said his eyes centered on the book.

"Wait," i said looking up over my shoulder at him, "can you see the spell lifting?"

He nodded clearly seeing the words on the pages. "I can read the words, but the words seemed to appear."

" peculiar," i said glancing back at the page.

"What's wrong, it's just magic right?"

"Yes, but the canto is suppose to prevent anyone outside of my bloodline to see the words," i said tapping my fingers to my chin turning my attention to the book.

I looked over the canto i summoned Demetri with. I had done it all correct. Quickly, i turned a few more pages until i found the passage i was seeking.

I stopped, quickly on the subheading. Speed reading through all the names until i got to the one i was seeking, Werewolf.

I picked up the book and slid passed Demetri walking out of the kitchen and into the living quarters of my home. I stopped when i felt the sensation that Demetri was watching me, but when i looked over my shoulder he was frozen in place.

I smiled gently, "well, aren't you coming?"
