Chapter 71 - The Tragic End of Gul

After hearing Minos' provocation, Ruth stormed towards the town mansion having her face flushed red. 'You rascal!' Before going away, she didn't forget to curse Minos.

Meanwhile, Elen and Eduard stopped by to congratulate Minos on his group's victory. It was indeed an exceptional achievement that his soldiers had achieved and killed even a level 45 cultivator.

"Mr. Minos, since the matter in Yellow City has already been resolved, Eduard and I shall take our leave and return to Stone Island today."

"Oh! So, are you already leaving? Alright, I hope you have a safe journey back to your home. In just over a month, our first dispatch will arrive at the new base that we are building on the coast," Minos reminded her.

Elen nodded, "Hmm, I will make sure to carry out the necessary arrangements for the transportation to be done at that time."

After that, it didn't take long before Elen and her bodyguard had left Yellow City and were heading to Maritime City, where they would catch a boat back to Stone Island. Meanwhile, Minos' group also returned to the local government mansion to spend the next few days until the fox, Emlyn, recovered.

After the events that took place at the eastern entrance to the city, the population of Yellow City was discussing the achievements of the Minos' group once again. The group of bandits who had been controlling their town for several months were now finally destroyed!

And because of this, many of the people who had been skeptical about this new group of individuals were now beginning to regain a glimpse of hope.

Although that battle was not enough to confirm the rumor that Dry City was hiring, it still lifted the burden from the thousands of citizens of this place. The problem was that the group of bandits didn't really care about running the city. They had imposed high taxes, robbed the merchants who passed by, and were still violent to the general populace.

For all these reasons, the removal of this group of bandits was a great relief for the inhabitants of this place.

Meanwhile, a group of people were now celebrating the news as they ate and drank in a bar. "Hahaha, that bastard Gul finally got what he deserves!" someone laughed after exclaiming aloud.

"I heard that he was captured. Are they going to execute him in public?" asked a young man with a twinkle in his eye. Watching executions was an activity enjoyed by many, especially when a known criminal was caught.

An old man then smiled and replied, "I don't mind. As long as that wretch dies, everything will be resolved."

Meanwhile, the various parts of Yellow City were celebrating this same news with great joy, as if they were having the best time in his region in ages.

People were beaming in the streets, men and women of all ages smiling as if there was no tomorrow. In fact, it was practically impossible to sleep in this region that night since the party did not seem to be ending at all.

...

And amidst this festive atmosphere, three days passed by very quickly in Yellow City. During this time, Butler Dillian had managed to heal most of Emlyn's injuries and all the open wounds had adequately recovered.

Emlyn had also received many spiritual fruits from Minos' soldiers, which helped her instantly recover most of her energy.

As for the little fox, Kyla, she was pleased. Observing her mother recovering after suffering so much was a great relief for her.

Moreover, because she was born in a spiritually depleted region, Kyla had never eaten a delicacy with a high spiritual concentration in her short life, making her thoroughly pleased as she enjoyed the fruits of the Black Plain, even to the point that she would sneak alone to Minos to get a little more.

Right now, Minos was in one of the mansion's noble rooms, which looked quite elegant. It had a good space along with several glass windows, which gave the room excellent ventilation. However, this room lacked furniture, and neither did it have decoration, just a big bed, a closet, and an armchair.

Sniff! Sniff!

Minos was still asleep when he suddenly felt something move on his sheets.

That was Kyla, who came to wake Minos every day to be fed her breakfast.

"Au! Au! Au!"

Minos then turned from side to side of the bed and opened his eyes slowly. He saw a small fox with orange and white fur, with a tail, gazing at him with her little eyes in a hungry expression.

"Kyla, are you already hungry? It's not time to eat yet," Minos said, gently stroking his hand over the little fox's head.

"Au! Au!" Kyla whimpered, her eyes filled with longing.

With that, Minos got up and carried Kyla in his arms before heading to her mother, Emlyn.

"Alright, let's first check on how your mom is doing."

Minos then walked for a few seconds until he reached a spacious room where Emlyn was lying on a long rug. Sensing that someone was looking at her, the mother fox opened her eyes and noticed a man holding her daughter while feeding her.

In the time that Emlyn and Kyla had lost their freedom to Gul's bandits, Emlyn had been unable to feed her daughter due to the numerous injuries on her body. And since Kyla already had her teeth grown, the little fox had been eating other food besides her mother's, thanks to the fruits that Minos gave.

Minos then gently placed Kyla next to her mother and said to Emlyn, "Okay, your treatment is complete, which is a good thing. And if you wish, I can deliver the bandit chief to you today. Do you like that?"

The big fox stared at Minos for a second and then spoke in a resentful voice, "Alright, I want him as soon as possible so that I can quell the anger in my heart for what we had suffered because of him."

"Hmm, and have you made up your mind about what I mentioned before? Since you've already recovered, I no longer intend to stay in this city," Minos asked.

"You said you would show me the proof, but then I would be forced to agree with your offer, right? Don't you think this is too excessive? You claim that you are different from those men, yet it looks like you want to control me as much as they do."

Hearing her words, Minos smiled and then replied, "It is not excessive. Certain secrets cannot be disclosed in public. But when I mentioned that you would have to accept the deal after seeing my proof, it was partially because you would want to take this chance yourself with all your strength.

This is simply the best opportunity for you and Kyla."

After saying those words, Minos let the mother and daughter eat while he went to have his breakfast.

After all, Minos was far from reaching a level where he would no longer need to eat food for his survival. Not only that, but good food could also bring immense satisfaction, even if it didn't have any needed nutrition.

Hours passed, and finally, the time for Emlyn's revenge arrived. All of Minos' soldiers had already gathered in the outer courtyard of the mansion. Minos, Dillian, and Ruth were also sitting on a porch, gazing over the three men kneeling on the floor.

These three were Gul, Dugal, and the muscular man. Minos intended to leave Yellow City within the next few hours, so he had to resolve the situation of these three before leaving. Speaking loudly, Minos addressed Dugal, "You provided me real information, so I will let you live. Release your spiritual strength and let one of my soldiers destroy your spiritual cultivation."

Generally, there were two ways to destroy someone's spiritual cultivation:

The first involved seriously injuring that person's soul, and the second was by dissipating the individual's spiritual energy and then destroying the cultivator's sensitive organ.

But, it was not enough to destroy this organ unless the cultivation was dissipated beforehand.

That is because the user's spiritual energy would always protect the organ, and it was impossible to destroy spiritual energy, making it indestructible, even for a God!

Spiritual energy could only manifest from the point where the cultivator used their spiritual techniques.

Dugal reluctantly released his spiritual energy, and in the next moment, those who were at level 40 realized that Dugal's level had plummeted from level 43 to level 0 in just a matter of a few seconds.

He appeared completely drained and ashen after carrying it out. Soon after, one of Minos' soldiers made a small incision at the height of Dugal's neck, extracting a small transparent gland from there.

That was the spiritual gland, the organ responsible for spiritual manipulation in humans!

Shortly after seeing the scene, Minos said out loud while looking at the two remaining men. "There shall be no mercy for either of you. Sergeant Humbert, decapitate the muscular man and let the mother fox come here."

It had not been long after Minos said that, and Emlyn had already entered the courtyard with bloodlust filled in her eyes as they were fixed on Gul while she made her move!

Most people in this place didn't even notice that the muscular man had already lost his head.

The sight of what the mother fox did was too shocking for them to avert their eyes elsewhere!

Pouncing in Gul's direction, she immediately began devouring the former bandit boss, slashing all the muscles with her sharp claws!

"AHHH!"
