Chapter 35 - Chapter 33 recruiting

James POV

Well mother was in and out for days but finally after a week he settled in place. Turning to her I said "mother we need more than what we have in forces and we shall need them quickly. We also need to know what samson is up to if only my little whore had stayed put well, she is no longer useful what shall I do about her as she knows too much?" My mother was looking over several books and documents and I tried to patiently await a reply from her but after seral times of her shifting books and shuffling papers between long stares into such books or papers I grew rather frustrated and annoyed. "MOTHER!" I shouted she near jumped in her startle. "what the hell James you see I am working what is it? Hmm I do so much for you, and I am still doing so I am trying to discover ways back into the fortress while making sure that I can undo or counteract Emily's spells. As well as her oaf of a father.

I know there must be more we can do so I have been trying to contact an old coven of witches one I knew before I met your father. It was there that I myself was taught and perhaps it is time to see what abilities you yourself James may yet possess." Mother had a plan up her sleeve I could tell one she was still yet forming. Knowing she wished to test me too.

Mother sent out missives to many through a mind-link like communication. Much like wolves would use only mother had to be completely focused and zoned in while she did so.

GRISLEDS POV

I had James to try and rule the coven I tried to have him early but still charlotte gave birth to samson. I had tried to kill the both of them and even tried cursing his birth and causing his death many times over through the years. When I couldn't stand it, I hatched a new plot one that my own so would be useful for I hater Anderson for leaving me for that stupid wisp of a thing charlotte. I swore long ago she would pay for steeling Anderson's love from me as he would pay for leaving me for her.

I knew they were mate's the moment I met her first I tried to keep them away from each other tried to kill her before they even met, I should have tried harder I shouldn't have been such a failure there. Then she was to have her child a month before I had James. It was an insult. The fact that he had slept with her behind my back knowing I already carried his child knowing that he said I was his one true love.

Bah men and their selfishness that is why I set my son against not only his own brother but his father as well. The mad wanted to play games with me fine but I would be the ultimate winner. I would run all he had all e loved and all that he tried to achieve or did achieve into the ground I would crush him. Till he was little more than a memory and more a folks-tale at that one people were never sure existed. All this I had to accomplish using my own child for I would take all that he was and make my son it then I would help him gain more power and he would never know that the power he would hold would truly be mine.

I mind-linked my coven and sent requests for their aid as well as to the leaders of the creatures I was wishing to recruit, and I gave all a place of meeting. In a forest near samsons coven house where we could watch and prepare for battle. It would give us time to encircle them without their knowledge I hoped. I needed to find more about the Emily girl and her father I needed their weaknesses. The knowledge that I had yet to find them was angering me. I pulled out books stealing from library, after library trying to find what I could on the little family. but either it was incomplete their own names weren't mentioned, or the book was too damaged to be read. Even with spells the damage couldn't be undone almost like this was purposeful and done by another magic.

Emily's' pov

I spent a lot of time with charlotte learning the names of the coven members. Meeting them and getting to know each person's role in the community. Charlotte also showed me how to find and taught me many of the secret corridors to the manor. If ever there was an emergency for the coven, I had to learn the plans and how to implement them. As well s how to get all I could to safety.

It made me nervous to think of such attacks and worried as we didn't know where James was even with our extra patrols. Nor did we know when he might be back. So as charlotte decided to teach the layout of the castle, I was grateful for it. The tour was both a distraction an at the same time a way to be prepared for the future. The day flew by as we waited on reply's and sent out other inquiries and prepared for the up and coming battle. We knew James wouldn't give up without a fight I just wished there was another way.

With time still slowly passing by as I went about my duties a few weeks after sending the letters I started feeling dizzy. At first, I brushed it off as standing or sitting too quickly then my nerves. Today however was a new strength to it caused me to feel nauseous first then when the dizziness hit it hit hard and fast causing me to lose my vision and I must have fainted. When I came to, I was back in the hospital wing with the doctor over me checking my pulse and flashing lights in my eyes. Upon me waking I could hear a collective sigh of relief. Looking around me I found Samson his mother and my father as well as the doctor Lebedinsky and a nurse all waiting patiently for me to awaken again. I found myself confused as I didn't remember the fainting spell or much of what had been happening for most of the day.
