Chapter 74 - Down the mountain

After they all agreed on the same plan, they decided to go toward south, first reaching the war camp to gather information about the geographical situation. They took all of Tom's belongings and one of his draft horses.

Oswald's stamina hardly depleted and it was the same for his mother. In the early morning, they were walking down the valley. Because of their slow pace, Oswald compared the time he needed to reach the plain by passing through the woods, after one full day they had to settle the camp halfway. The most tired of the group was the horse of course.

Tom was too excited and a little mistrustful to the two monsters to let his guard down a second and did not notice the time passing by until his stomach grumbled.

The advantage of being with a hunter was the knowledge he had on meat, and the amount carried. Barbecues were Tom's favorite dish, even after he saw his friend gnashing the raw meat from its bone.
