Like a meticulously fitting diapason, Oswald spoke back to the lost man with the same burst of insanity. A bunch of nonsense the priest was too frail to deconstruct, and too weak to argue against. Father Jagan kindly invited the group to enter, while Oswald asked Harlow and Jarl to fetch something to eat. They were in the middle of the afternoon but the state of the edifice suited its owner well and risking the man's life was out of their plan.
Making the priest sit on a bench, Oswald asked. "What made you lose your faith?"
Biting his lower lip, the man replied reluctantly. "A little bit of everything, and the absence of progress despite my lifetime dedication. I've grown tired of forcing peace into people."
Only the Spanish-speaking guy looked sorry to his plea. Even after he seemed to translate the whole story. At least that's what the priest thought Oswald said, in reality he repeated his plan.
