Tom barged in the tent with a surprised face, Laurel following him. It was the middle of the afternoon, the sun generated the little bit of warmth that slowly heated the atmosphere through the year.
"Is it for real? Have you really put me in charge of telling the tale?"
"Yes, although I'll understand if you refuse. But you must acknowledge I'm trusting you enough to share it this once. I want you to first give your perspective, that's what matters the most to me."
Tom was a little worried, but more jealous. Less than a month in and Laurel already had the right to know the big secret. It also meant he had a competitor in the acquisition of the power.
Nonetheless it was an opportunity for Tom to show how involved he was, and to scare Laurel, well there was a tiny chance he could, so he was fine with the mission.
Unconsciously, he wanted the same thing as Oswald and not involve Laurel too much.
