"There you are Daron!" exclaimed Traitorous as he was reading through a letter he had received just a while ago.
"Anything?"
"Yeah. Phoenix college had read through your profile and decided to accept you! Haha! Now, all you need to do is successfully reach the Land of Mages, and you will be able to join the Phoenix college, and perhaps become an official mage like me one day!"
"That is only par for the course. I can already cast basic Fireball! I am also an Intermediate Knight! Of course, they would accept me!" Daron answered.
"I did not write about you being an Intermediate knight" Traitorous said with a straight face.
"Huh?" Daron was confused for a few moments, before his expression turned to one of confusion, but then it quickly dawned upon him.
'I am somewhat unique in the aspect that I can control both Internal Energy and Mana. If this was to be known those Rank 2 or 3 mages, they would find some way to make Daron 'disappear in an accident' and then experiment on me or something.'
After a few years of living with Traitorous, and hearing his constant bragging, as well as warnings, Daron had already formed a mental image of the mages of this world, along with the help of that rather narcissistic mage who had been hunting him down, and even destroyed the entirety of Bard for it.
Daron remained silent, and simply nodded. Traitorous handed Daron the letter, and asked him once more,
"Were you actually able to change your name?"
"Yeah! I already went to the church of one of the smaller towns, and changed by name to Daron Evans."
Without saying anything else, he lifted his right hand and displayed the Identification by the church, which had that very name, instead of Daron's true name.
"Good. It is already a well-known fact among most of the mages that a child called Daron cage is a lone Draconian. Essentially, a walking treasure house of materials once you grow up. Therefore, this way, you should be able to protect yourself for the time being."
While he was saying that, he watched closely as Daron elongated his hair, turning it from black, to a mysterious blue, while the muscles in his body increased by nearly 1/10th.
This way, he looked nothing like the original Daron, and even if anyone from Pierre who had seen him would not recognise him.
Now, everything was set. All his belongings had been packed into a suitcase. Not much was there, except for the key to his 'incognito' bank account, a few silver he had made from his businesses, a few pairs of clothes, and a few potions he had bought from the Alchemy Union.
Now that everything was set, he picked up one of the countless ordinary looking swords within Traitorous' collection. Although none of them were imbued with magic, they were all clearly top-quality items, which even an Intermediate knight such as himself could use without fear of it breaking from his strength.
He himself was not good enough to produce items such as this. At best, he could produce a sword that an official knight could use. The reason was not his skills, but the fact that he was not taught the correct techniques, and apparently, even Sirious did not have those techniques.
The Blacksmith Union had flat-out rejected his offer to buy the technique, saying that he would have to become a permanent member of the Blacksmith Union in Ferdon, and settle down here as an official resident member.
Although the counter offer they gave would have temped most, Daron was not part of that most. After all, his main goal was to learn magic, which he had already begun to learn, after successfully being able to cast fireball.
"Alright then, go." With a wave of his hand, Daron was carried. By the wind to a teleportation array. Suddenly, the teleportation array lit up, and Daron vanished into blue and white lights.
Traitorous sat back down and sighed, with a glint in his eyes.
'Hopefully you are lucky enough to survive…'
