Chapter 32 - I did not train enough

"Wrong eye colour." The reality broke again, his body laying on a bed and suddenly getting up and through a door despite the restraints and needles on him. "Injured criminal, really? I'm not even going to begin telling you what's wrong with this shit. Like, that guy is using pink sunglasses." He scoffed, finally getting out of the mind realm the other guy had been trying to support. "You are utterly pathetic. Couldn't you even figure out ONE of my great fears?"

The demon on all four spat out blood, the insult driving his meager resistance to it's end as he lost concentration and suffered the full blown backlash of his technique. The person in front of him was too strange! His mind changed too much, he couldn't get out after getting in, no fake world held him for more than a minute because he was always trying to read something or affect the reality itself, his core was so fucking dangerous he wanted to just lay down and die after experiencing the aura of some of the monsters orbiting it! One of them wouldn't even get out of his head!

Aki did not know that, though he had an idea of what would be protecting his core, and the smallest of them was near ten meters tall, five wide, full of tentacles, eyes and blades besides having shapeshifting and cognito hazardous abilities. The stupid box was actually not the weakest though, just the one with the smallest in 'mass'. The place should be full of redundances and other shit since it was actually one of his greatest fears as well.

Attacking his sense of self was quite dangerous. Though attacking his mind to the point he blacked out was also not so safe anymore.

Picking up the demon in front of him, Aki unceremoniously carried him to the barrier and beat his head against it. Just as he thought, beating a stone with a sufficiently fast egg would still crack it.

What waited for him however, were hurrying figures dressed in black, completely flabbergasted that something like that had happened so quickly. He was not dumb enough to think they did not have a second round of traps if they wanted to delay him so badly.

Figure after figure, they all dropped to the ground, none withing his range allowed to retreat.

The next problem was to figure out where he should go, there was no convinient glowing arrow pointing towards the command tent or the like. After considering for five seconds, he decided to just follow towards the place Samy was at.

As he jogged towards the place, he noted there were other five domes of black fire over the camp, though he was not so interested in dealing with that when he had to break those from the outside. Getting to his destination had him sensing five auras of similar level to himself fighting. One of them his baby girl, the only human on the scene the army commander, looking worse for wear.

He basically crashed into a seamless barrier when he tried to join the fray however, finding the thing invisible to his perception even as he quite literally smacked his face against it. His ears were burning a little, of course there would be a barrier even if he couldn't see it!

Slowly walking forward and touching the thing, he completely ignored the demon that'd turned back to sneer at him while trying to say something before he started to drain the barrier and shoot the mana as a beam of radiance towards the closest black fire dome. At the same time, his eyes slowly followed the man screaming at him about something, he didn't pay attention to it.

Samael was still blasted by the screams of the demon mage however, and it was certainly important since she could use the chance to finally hit one of the two guys she was fighting against, poisoning him with the legendary grade dagger. Quickly dodging a kick to the ribs with inhuman flexibility, she slashed at his other leg even as she retreated, all the time grining at her opponent before suddenly teleporting behind the other guy, avoiding his back handed strike like a snake and using her body weight to counter balance her knee hiting his side with most her strength, just enough for him to be unable to dodge the hailbard striking his arm.

An explosion happened besides them, but she didn't look towards the fire, she could see the ray of light still going towards the same direction without interuption.

Punch, punch, kick, feint, chance, teleport, obey, kill, kick, hidden blade, feint, feint, teleport, teleport...

She fell into a trance, the battle starting to flow around her as the mage found himself unable to look away from the laughing skull that mocked him, his allies completely ignored. Without the constant mind jabs, cursed fire, buffs and interruption to her shadow vault, she became an untouchable shadow waiting for her opponents to show weakness, exploiting those at every turn.

The army commander was not bad for an old man either, but he had been heavily injured and cursed by the time she'd reached him, so instead of simply wiping the floor with these guys, he had to act as her support instead. He didn't much like her boss, but was always professional about it, which generally ment explaining how suicidal were the missions he received, so she had some respect for him before, but she was honestly impressed now.

*Crack*

As the sound entered her ears, her mouth twitched, her attacks suddenly accelerating and allowing for a heavy hit or another to get to her armor. It hurt her, sure, but she wanted to prove herself.

*CRACK*

It was her job and most of her use, how could she allow herself to be seen as useless?

The barrier shattered, and she had her dagger on the heart of one of the demons. She smiled at him, but the taller man smiled back as he grabbed her head. The pressure started to mount and her skull was crushed.

Or so it'd be if a ray of light didn't cut both the arm and the head of the demon.

"Always expect things calling themselves demons to have between two to twelve hearts!" Came the patronising voice from behind her. The sound of a crushing skull and parting flesh filled her ears as the mage was taken down, the other demon immortal laying on the ground without legs, his arms burning up as he screamed. "Now stop sulking young lady, go figure out a way to get those mentalists inside the barriers while i heal our dear commander. You have an entire country worth of enemies to get good fights even now, so there's no room for complaining." Grinned the young man on charred clothes.

Turns out that the amount of demons he'd killed and the amount of men he'd 'saved' was pretty much enough for him to be called back and earn a noble title, but Aki couldn't care less, so he instead told the messenger to get the emperor to choose and artifact or another and speed deliver it to his position. He wasn't dumb enough to leave position just because he held the fort once, there hadn't even been a series of bombardments or biological warfare yet, so he was obviously not seen as too much of a threat before.

He did take the chance to remember the man that he wanted to know about his previous incarnation in this realm however, and ask to be re-asigned to the main battle field instead of going in unnofficial expeditions that extended from his suicide missions. That some people wanted him dead no matter what was fine, but they simply sent too few assassins, and his mind magic was only good for minimal distractions, which were actually very effective in combat, and completely popping heads off from unguarded targets, which didn't work as even a party trick most of the time.

The mensager returned the next day, looking beary (It was a bear-kin) tired and carrying a legendary trinket. Aki couldn't for the life of him remember the name of those things, just that you were supposed to pin them to your outerwear and they were not necessarily medals.

"Clasp, locket, brooch, pin, how do you keep casting all kinds of ridiculous techniques and still forget something so simple?" Questioned Samy. "What are you going to do with it them? Your clothing doesn't normally supports carrying such things around during a battle, but i don't think i can use it either, the light on it would burn me instead of whatever it does." She pointed out, the silver bird cradling a giant egg with it's whole body very beautiful, specially when the filling between it and the end of the pin was a beautiful saffire that seemed to posses a sky inside of it.

The assassin didn't understand much about creating jewelry, but she was pretty sure the silversmith had to contour the gem and use several techniques to perfectly fit the thing without breaking it. At first the thought came from the fact that it gave an aura of being natural despite being obviously man-made, but then Aki started to poke and prod the thing with several attacks and it didn't show even a scratch, nevermind that the silver surrounding it seemed to regenerate.

If her crazy master couldn't damage it then she fucking doubted a whatever artisan made this could!

"I like it. When we get back i will find someone to make it into a little chain so i can put it arround my neck. It's also a healing item, so i'm quite happy to have it at hand." He smuggly declared and turned to run towards the main campsite, several kilometers away;

The shade was a bit distraught, even a girl as 'unfeminine' as her would want one pretty thing or another, but she'd already figured out that her master was much more vein than her, she'd ask for something more fitting if it ever appeared.

*****

It took only one day for Aki to fuck things over.

{Detected elimination of main figure: Demon king Asphodeus! Dungeon is terminated beforehand! Beggining grade calculation!}

Time stopped, the head he'd just cut off the body in front of him staying mid air as his limbs started to dissolve in white particles, yet he could still move so he put the thing that'd spawned in front of the supposed demon king into his mouth before storring it, somehow being succesful as his teeth bit into the thing.

"Puth, you mean the demon king was so fucking easy to assasinate?!" He asked in shock, nothing answering him back though he could feel his shade was asleep in his shadow again. "No no no, you have to compensate me! No matter how you look at it, two more weeks and change because of that special event are extremely valuable! Even more than this fuck's whole treasure vault! To begin with, what kind of demon lord dies from having their head cutting off for the first ti..." His mouth was swallowed by the slow transportation method seemed to speed up, allowing the complaining young man to get to a vast nothingness with tons of stars all in the horizon. "What kind of half assed demon king dies from having one head blown away?! Did that guy even qualify for the position of demon lord?! I want an overseer to check this over!"

{Request acknowledged. Overseer 21 dispatched.}

"Is there a problem?" Asked the voice of a perfect...

*POP POP*

And Aki's eyes popped yet again.

"I take you're the goddess of beauty." He pushed through gritted teeth as he closed his eyelids and healed the damage.

"Something like that. Now, what did you call an overseer for?" She repeated, the voice all emcompassing and acting as a mental softening that almost put him to sleep despite her obvious lack of trying.

"Yes, sorry. I think there's something wrong with the one making my limit breaking dungeon. I can understand that killing off the guy that planed for my demise or the other country's leader would end the dungeon, but it all just seemed a bit too easy to get. Like, even if he wasn't focused on his vitality, shouldn't a demon king with some attributes past ZZ rank have several specialized defences guarding his frailer body? I know i had plenty of multipliers on that kick, but it just seems far fetched to have the whole thing end like that. Besides, i still had over two weeks on my timer, will that get me more ratings because it's a limit breaking..."

"You will still only get +1, no exception. The other thing does seem strange however, let me check." He could not see the one who he was talking to, but it was obvious they were frowning or whatever their equivalent of it was. "You kicked his neck twice, with both a sword and spear techniques?" She questioned with some amusement.

"I used telekinetic platforms to transfer the damage since he seemed important, but yes. Training for when i can actually hit someone more than once in one attack." He nodded.

"You know there's skills for that, right?"

"I really don't want to try to relly on the system for that, thank you, nevermind my pocket would die ten times over to get enough resources to fuel the thing i want."

21 was quite surprised the player in front of her was still properly concious despite his special form and pain resistance. He was quite literally oozing fear at this point, so it was quite strange he could still look so normal. What happened was indeed weird however.

While that realm didn't have the same basis for the use of the title of demon king, it was indeed strange that said target appeared directly on the battlefield. Checking the logs, however, quickly revealed the reason.

"""""""""""""""""""HAHAHAAHAHAAAAHAAAHAHAHAHA..."""""""""""""""""""

"Ops..." 21 looked at the cloud of blood and pasted meat in front of her, healing the soul and the body back to a pristine state and even giving him a bonus for the trouble. He just fell to his knees on the non existent ground and flipped her off. It was really hard to not kill this mortal with how funny he was! *Cough* "There was nothing wrong with the dungeon generation besides a slightly reduced dificulty given because of your low scouting abilities. The demon king was just weakened and overconfident despite you wiping out over half of his court because they'd all been his enemies plus some insignificant characters, so he thought his own plans had taken their lives and you'd simply finished them off." She explained. "Now, just to be sure, let me do your final calculations."
