Chapter 4 - The Truth

After setting up his room, Zotar and Alex had walked to a training dome. It was as big as four football fields neatly placed together in a big rectangle. Alex felt sick at how high the ceiling was not liking the feel of the area.

"How is all of this hidden from the outside?" Alex asked.

Zotar frowned, "Well first off we are still under ground, and second, he used a concealing spell with a barrier that if we cross through it and those we want to pass through, will be able to see and touch all of this you see. If not they just pass through into a big forest." Alex blinked slightly confused. The man sighed and shook his head. "I'm sure you'll get it soon."

Alex just nodded slowly, "Right, so um training?"

Spear gave an evil looking smile, "Oh that's right. Run to the other side of this field in under 4 minutes." Alex looked at him confused. "Don't worry I know you can do it probably even under two but, do you have the stamina and speed? That's what i'm looking for right now."

Alex nodded and stretched really quick and to his spot on the wall waiting for the command to start.

Zotar narrows his eyes at the older teen, "START!"

Alex then started running not at his fastest pace since he knew he'd have to run back most likely also in a time limit. He ran at this pace until he reached the other wall and stopped taking deep breaths holding his head with his hands.

He was surprised to see Zotar walk towards him and looked at him with wonder, "H-how did you..."

Zotar shrugged and grinned, "I jogged beside you on the other side. Anyways, your time is 3 minutes and 45.4 seconds." He narrowed his eyes, "Now run back in under two. Starting now."

"WHAT?!" Alex scrambled to start and started running as fast as he could back to the other end. Well I'm used to this for the most part. I WAS in soccer as well as swimming. So both running and breathing techniques right there. Alex reached the wall and stumbled to a stop hitting the wall with his side luckily not too hard.

Zotar walked up to him again with a smile and a pat on the back, "Great job! You got a time of a minute and 32 seconds."

Alex coughed and frowned at Zotar, saving his breath to get himself back to normal. Zotar looked Alex over and patted him on the head messing with Alex's hair.

"HEY!" Alex batted Zotar's hand away.

Zotar chuckled, "Well you can run this field in under 2 seconds. That is ofcourse when you're in your Lingle Horn form but we'd rather not let you do that."

Alex frowned, "Why can't I?"

Zotar sighed, "The Queen. Eagle of the Lingle Horns. She can only know that you exist when you activate your Lingle Horn form. We suggest waiting until the last minute for you to turn, so we have the upper hand. And catch her by surprise." He frowned and looked him over, "Though you may not be strong alone. The rejects and exiled combined can take her down. We just need to remove her army out of the equation."

Alex blinked a bit shocked, "So um how am I supposed to look like you without unlocking my Lingle Horn form?"

Zotar sighed, "We're hoping that even though you haven't changed, that your powers will realize that when you level up in the stages it'll save that information for when you do."

Alex smiled, "Oh and what if it doesn't."

Zotar's face went serious, "Then we are screwed." He nodded.

Alex's face went blank. And he looked down mumbling to himself on how he was feeling like a main character of a show or book. Always needs to be one person to save the day. Alex sighed and crossed his arms.

"So why again are you wanting to take down the queen?" Alex asked looking up at the man who looked like he was having trouble thinking out a plan.

Zotar frowned, "She exiled many of the Lingle Horns here. Most for betraying her when they worked for her. One of them here even tried killing her. She probably would've killed him if she didn't care about him." He sighed.

Alex just stared at him, "How were you exiled?"

Zotar laughed, "Oh! I wasn't exiled no no. I was captured and brainwashed." He smiled at Alex.

So I am on the bad side... these people are crazy! Alex made a face and let out a helpless sigh, "And what about my parents?"

Zotar coughed, "Oh right! They both killed the queen's human connections throughout many countries during the time. It led to a world war but the queen made sure to revert the world back to its normal state bringing those that died back to life. She also removed any memory and proof that this war happened so." Zotar smiled at Alex.

Alex frowned, "If she removed proof then why did she exile my parents?"

Zotar frowned, "Because they killed her first born daughter. The first in line for the throne... If they didn't do that then she would've been fine." Alex blinked and turned his back on Zotar and started walking out. Zotar yelped, "Where are you going?"

Alex huffed, "It would seem I'm on the side of evil." Zotar jumped in front of Alex and waved his hands.

"Please hear me out." Zotar paused and took a deep breath. "Please we just want to go home."

Alex hissed, "You want to take over the queen! You're trying to do that yet you keep calling her The Queen. As if you are still loyal to her."

Zotar looked down, "You have a point but, don't you want what I promised you?"

Alex froze and looked away with a sigh. He thought about it and scoffed, "Fine. But I don't get how I can just go to Eagle and ask her to do it."

Zotar looked broken as he looked at Alex, "Do you seriously want to fulfill your wish that way?"

Alex looked down and mumbled, "No."

The man smiled and nodded, "I thought so. Now here's the truth about you." He put a hand on Alex's shoulder and whispered in his ear, "You're not 10 years old. Your memories were altered. You're really 18."

Alex shivered and turned around to not look at his mentor. What?! Why would they manipulate my memories? What was the point? The black haired newbie frowned and sighed. He walked out of the training dome. Zotar didn't follow, he didn't say anything to stop Alex from leaving. He just gave the boy space and teleported to his office to do some work.

Alex frowned thoughts racing through his mind, he shook them away and went to his room and looked at his computer. Even though it was the year 2000 he had a high tech computer. He narrowed his eyes at it and a small piece of information came to mind. It was a gaming computer from the future. He blinked and smiled, how did he not notice until now? His parents probably went forward time to get it or they just made it with their powers.

He sighed, shaking his head looking at his room. Most of it was probably from the future or made by his parents. He chuckled, took off his shoes and threw himself on his bed for a nap.

He had an hour of sleep before he woke to Zotar barging into his room singing Fly Me to The Moon. Alex opened an eye to look at him with a frown. He buried his head under his pillow and hugged his long pillow close to him.

The Lingle Horn laughed, "Oh get up sleepy head! Dinner is served!"

Alex chuckled, "This is some late dinner." He sighed, actually feeling hungry. He rolled out of bed and put on his shoes before pushing past Zotar and out of his room. Zotar smiled and walked ahead of Alex guiding him to the dining hall.

To Alex's surprise there were a bunch of Lingle Horns gathered sitting with each other laughing and talking to one another. There were probably a thousand of them. Zotar turned into his Lingle Horn form and smiled at Alex, who was the only human looking one. "For dinner we have roasted pig! Fried duck! AND t-bone steak."

Alex's eyes glowed and he smiled, "WOW! Don't mind me!" He ran to the food table and grabbed what he wanted and walked over to where Zotar was sitting. As long as I get my wish, I'm happy. Zotar gave me the best offer. Well the only offer. I took it. There's no going back.
