Pain.
I gasps at the sudden inoculation of pain in my body. I open my eyes, only to flash at a lady. In defense, I grab her wrist, stopping her from proceeding with her action. She looks down at me and gives a friendly smile.
"You're awake."
She has a short hair, dark brown. Her eyes are big doe with brown speckle, captivating and she looks my age. Her hand slowly massage mine freeing the one I cage.
She slopes upward and bounce off, as she drops the tray in her reach on the white bedside table. I look away from her, assessing the place I am.
There are a pendant lights hovering over me, so many and they do change. Red, blue, maybe green then white. It has an effect on the room.
I wonder if this lights glows real or it's just my weakling sight making pictures.
My throat feels dry as I try to speak, as if she sense that she rise a cup filled with what I don't know close to my mouth. I accept it trusting her.
My throat feels better as the substance whisks down it.
It was water, tasteless in its nature.
"Thank you" I mutter, but she hears me and nods as she moves to the bedside table, where the stainless tray she carried before is located and dump the empty glass.
"Where...what is this place? Ow." I moan in agony as I strive to sit up.
"Easy." the lady slants beside me, petting my back, she imprison my arms and help me sit up.
She move backwards and grab a black chair at the corner of the room.
She lower, fronting me.
I gaze at every direction of the room, a king size bed which matches the theme of the room with it black coffee color resting against the wall. The bedside table has a separate color, white. No extra design or attachment on the cream wall. Although plain thus, pretty and luxury.
"This place..." I turn to the lady.
A sharp pain set in my stomach as I turn, "ahh!" I cry.
One of my hands touch my belly and I look down. The cloth I am wearing distinct from my dress.
The button up oversize top I'm wearing happen to be a little bit lose, and my thigh and stomach exposes. I rise the garment up and stare at my injured stomach.
"That place was a pretty mess when they brought you in."
They? Who are they?
I glance up to look for her, She no longer sit on the chair, she crouches beside me on the couch. I didn't take my eyes off my wrapped stomach as I nervously touch the white gauze–
"Hey, be careful there... You don't wanna open the new eight stitches."
"Eight?" I pant, she nods.
"Who're you? A doc?"
She laughs at my question but she doesn't answer.
How long did I pass out?
Eight stitches, it must be a damp there. I drop the shirt and stare emptily.
I remember the accident, how I had lambaste the driver and the car crashing– there was someone else, it was the guy. The one with the golden hair and blue eyes. He was there too and I had tried to get pass him.
Let's see how far you can go.
That was what he said, he was the last thing I saw before seeing black. If he was there then where is this place?
"Where am I?" I ask the short haired girl. I turn my back off, facing her on the couch. Her short hair reminds me of an Egyptian princess, Cleopatra. Her bangs are exactly like Cleopatra's.
"Here?–this is a Yacht." she leaves me on the couch which makes me wonder why I can't have the big bed to myself.
"Yacht?" She bobs.
Who would be rich enough to save me and put me in a yacht? Big money I guess.
Why am I in a yacht? What could be wrong?
Her back rotates to me, her long white satin grown flow down her feet. Her arms are fold as she stares wistfully at nothing in particular.
"The accident..." She takes a turn and stares down at me. Her brown eyes lock with me.
"How did it happen?" She kneels before me.
I examine her face, she doesn't look old enough to be a detective or even a doctor. She's better off a doctor than a detective, if she claims to have operate me.
"I, uh, I... really can't tell. All I know was that I wanted to escape and it just..." I lick my dry lips wet and look away remembering how it happened.
I caused that accident, I killed a man. If she's probably a police officer beyond my imagination, I shouldn't talk about the accident.
"Happened."
"It's okay, I guess you will be stronger than this later in the day." she taps my leg feebly and rise up. I catch her vanilla scent which reminds me of home and Harley.
I follow her direction with my eyes. She picks the black chair, which appear comfy and it's only purpose has just been served. She returns it back the corner of the room where a black matching desk stations.
"I'm guessing if you need anything, I will be the one to give you. You should rest now."
"Hey. I didn't get your name." I call after before she opens the Victoria door and get out.
"Rosa."
Rosa walks back to me, swinging her hips. She look back often before she gets to me.
She bends over to my level. A feeling hit me that what is about to gush off her mouth will not be good and it will change my belief about the whole thing here.
"Things are about to change for you and I don't think you will not enjoy it."
I throw Rosa my best confused look, she look past me to the wall behind me, l look back and glance at the wall clock hanging above me.
"I should leave you to rest now." she hurries off.
She waits by the door and spear me a last glance before going out and closing the door behind her.
