"Sooooooo?" Riku began the conversation and got straight to the point.
"What's in the package?"
"I don't know." Haru chuckled lightly. "Well open it now don't make me wait forever woman let's see what it is!" she jumped excitedly like a little girl in a pet store.
Haru looked at Riku amused "Okay..." she sighed and slowly opened up the bag. "FASTER WOMAN!" Riku was beginning to grow impatient so Haru quickly took the contents out of the bag. It was a cute fluffy pink teddy bear holding a rose and a small red box.
"Aww so cute! now open the box."
Haru glared at Riku "DAMN WOMAN rush much?" so she purposely opened the box slowly as Riku waited anxiously on the edge of her seat to see what was in the box. When Haru opened the box her jaw dropped and her voice caught in her throat.
In the box was a pair of heart-shaped ruby earrings. "These look expensive.." Haru said shakily as her eyes glossed over. "I know! who knew he had such good taste." Riku replied excitedly.
Haru had never owned anything so expensive in her life. studying the stones she knew they were REAL rubies of high quality.
"I can't wear this it's just way too expensive!"
"You know you'll just offend him if you don't accept it."
"But I don't want to lead him on either. We're not even a couple."
"Judging by those earrings he's working on it." Riku winked.
"What's so special about me though. I'm just average." Haru replied defeated.
Riku looked at her disappointingly "Now what makes you say that? Your ex-husband?" She accused.
"No. I overheard some women gossiping about me when I went out to dinner with TJ" Haru answered dejectedly
"Well, that comes with dating a celeb. Other's opinions shouldn't even matter anyway." Riku huffed.
"I guess. But I just got out of my marriage I can't get into a relationship so soon."
"Tj is a smart guy and by the looks of it, he definitely likes you. I don't think that he'll put you in a compromising position."
Haru looks down at the earrings "I hope so."
"Well go to sleep now I'm taking the day off tomorrow to take you to the doctor to get your arm fixed."
Haru chuckled at the term she used. "Thank you, Riku."
Riku smiles and walks to her room and closes the door. Haru sat on the couch a little longer processing everything. Then gets up and walks to her room and quietly closes the door behind her. She drops her purse on the floor next to the door and takes the bag and places it on the side table next to her bed. She changes into some pajamas, goes to sit on the bed, and takes out the teddy bear. She holds it, open's the box in the teddy bear's arms, and admires the earrings. 'should I wear them to work? I don't want to lead him on but these are just so pretty.' She debated with herself until a memory flashed into her head.
TJ slowly leaned down and kissed her on the cheek. Haru's hand slowly went up to her cheeks and she felt her face begin to heat up. She quickly closed the box and pulled the covers over her head with her good arm and falls asleep.
At Hiro's apartment, Hiro was walking back and forth in the living room biting his thumb recalling what he had seen earlier. his heart felt like it dropped to the bottom of his stomach. He was going up to Riku's house to tell her that he had seen Kiba walking near their workplace and that he was pretty sure Kiba saw Haru with TJ. He was worried that Kiba would know that she worked there. Luckily they were already by TJ's car when Kiba was near so there was still a possibility that he doesn't know where Haru is working and he can't pester her at work. When he reached the corner he heard the conversation between Haru and TJ. When he looked he saw him Kiss her! Hiro knew that this was going to be a sleepless night and wondered how he was going to get through tomorrow let alone face the woman he started having feelings for.
At TJ's apartment, TJ was walking out of the shower and changed into his pajamas. He walked over to the bed and picked up a little red box similar to the one he gave Haru. He opened the box and smiled remembering the evening.
In the box, there was a white gold ear cuff linked to a heart-shaped ruby earing. 'I don't know why this woman has such an effect on me but she's just so easy to be around. I've never wanted to date anyone after the last monster I dated... Why her?' TJ kept thinking to himself asking himself so many questions which the answer's remained a mystery.
While he admired his earring he thought to himself 'When the timing is right I'll confess to her and wear this." he smiled.
After closing the box he carefully placed it on his bedside table then picked up his phone he looked to see if Haru had any social media. Since she hadn't contacted him yet he still didn't have her number but he just couldn't wait to talk to her again. He found her on bookface and immediately added her. Then he proceeded to message her.
-I had a great time tonight. Even though there was an interruption I had a lot of fun with you. Thank you. I'll see you at work tomorrow.
He sent the message and after waiting for 30 min to hear from her he figured she had already gone to sleep. So he got under the covers and happily went to sleep.
The next morning TJ woke up super pumped and excited to get to work. He made sure he looked extra good today. he wore a white shirt loosely tucked into a pair of semi baggy jeans with a black belt and topped it off with a denim jacket and finished it off with a pair of white sneakers with a black swoosh on the side. He didn't bother to style his hair fancy since they'd be restyling it at work anyway so he just parted his short silky straight hair to the side so that his bangs wouldn't be in his face which was a fail because his hair was so silky and pin-straight that it just kept falling to the front.
He was heading towards the door when he stopped in front of the mirror and gave himself a once over, ran his hands through his silky hair, pointed two fingers, and gave himself a wink. "Yep I look good." he chuckled and then proceeded to walk out the door.
He made his way to work and excitingly walked into the building. Trying not to look so weirdly suspicious he kept looking around to see where Haru was. After half a day had passed and Haru was nowhere to be seen he was beginning to get anxious.
She hadn't read his message from the night before nor had she texted him. He was wondering why he was getting so flustered over this. While he was walking down the hall to the men's room he bumped into someone. "oh, sorry man." he apologized and when he looked up to see who he bumped into it was Hiro. "Dang, What happened to you are you okay?" TJ asked looking at Hiro concerned. Hiro looked beat up with major dark circles and bags under his eyes. His eyes were bloodshot and he definitely did not look alright. He looked like a zombie.
