He watched the king looking out at the moon in the dark of the night. The palace felt empty and he could see dried blood around the area. His king had smears of blood still on his robe and skin, uncaring of the mess. He walked away and reached into his sleeve to pull out a cloth. He found a pail of water beside a dead body.
He froze for a moment, before he swallowed down the fear and dunked his handkerchief.
Returning to his king, he began wiping his king's bloodied hands. Silver eyes turned to him and watched him clean off the blood caked on pale skin. He was just as tall as his abdomen now, not quite an adult, but matured enough to know what happened.
