Chapter 32 - The History Of The Obelix City Tree

Early in the morning, Louis was in his office. Even Jack, who usually came first from him, now came late in comparison to Louis.

He doesn't know what got into him, so that he finally was at his desk with his hands already busy with the laptop screen in front of him.

Knock! Knock!

(Sound the door opened)

"Morning Louis, What's wrong with you? Doesn't it like you usually come after me arrive here first? Is there something that got into your mind so that your habits change?" Jack asked in a relaxed tone with his best friend, not caring if Louis was his boss in that office.

Louis did not answer, but a soft shrug in response to a question from Jack to him.

Feeling curious about what Louis was doing, Jack, with his initiative, immediately took a big step to get closer to his friend so he could find out what Louis was doing.

"Obelix City? Ah ... isn't that city our project now? Why are you looking for it?" asked Jack, confused.

"Something strange is going on there, Jack."

Jack frowned softly. Jack's mind drifted to and fro, and don't forget that Jack believes that Louis is not a young man who believes in illogical things.

"It's you, isn't it?"

Louis's fingers, which were previously busy typing, now seemed to pause for a moment and stared intently at Jack's face.

"What do you think about me?" the question that came out of his mouth just like that when Louis stared closely at Jack.

"You're weird, Louis," said Jack, staring at Louis unusual.

"Me?" asked Louis, confused.

Jack nodded his head, confirming Louis's words.

Hearing that answer, Louis just chuckled in response. According to him, what he was doing right now was not strange. After all, what he was looking for was still logical in his mind.

He was only limited to looking for the history of the city of Obelix that he did not know, as well as looking for whether the strange thing that he felt was strange yesterday had happened a long time ago or something, nothing more!

"Why do you think this tree is taken in the same month and different years can be different colors? Isn't it supposed to have the same season in the same month?" Louis asked Jack.

Jack, who previously did not seem to understand the purpose of Louis's search, now he approached Louis to see the laptop screen that Louis had just pointed at him.

For a moment, Jack's eyes only focused on the screen. Even his hands were cleverly digging further into the things that Louis had said before.

Louis, who noticed that Jack was already cool on his own with his laptop, could only fold his hands on his chest while waiting for the latest information he had passed from his search.

He was well aware that in comparison to himself, it was Jack who was more careful in searching for information like that. Sometimes he often passes some info.

"It seems like this tree is related to the issues that exist in the city," said Jack after almost looking for information on Louis's laptop for nearly half an hour.

"You mean?" asked Louis, confused not to understand the words that Jack threw at him earlier.

"Here, you pay attention to the issues that exist in the City of Obelix, and pay attention to the color of this tree, and the unique thing is this tree will change its original color right when the case happened earlier."

This time it was Louis who was trying to be serious like Jack before.

"Ah ... you're right, means that old man is telling the truth?" asked Louis after remembering that the color of the tree he visited earlier was the same color as the tree five years ago.

Jack quickly confirmed, he felt something like that was very likely to happen.

"But who is that old man? Isn't it that when we look for him again, it seems like he has magic skills that just disappeared? "

For Louis's question, Jack, of course, could not answer it, he himself actually doubted whether the old man he had previously met with Louis was the same human as him or was not human, and the old man was the guardian of the tree.

"I'm not sure he's human like us, Louis."

"Tch, you are."

Jack chuckled at Louis's chuckle because he couldn't answer the curiosity his friend was thinking about.

"Oh yeah, today I've made a schedule for a meeting with the architect, as well as a few people who I think deserve to be invited to the meeting regarding the design change, bro."

A nod Louis gave Jack. Not to forget Jack also informed that the meeting would be held at 9 am, and in only one hour the meeting would take place in the meeting room that Jack had indeed prepared.

"Thank you, Jack."

"You're welcome, Louis."

Dru is now in his father's inpatient room.

Yes, the young man was in charge of looking after his father. Then where is Lauren? Is she still with him?

Another thing with Dru, who is still in the hospital, Lauren has brought by Dru back to the hotel so that the middle-aged woman can rest her frail body. He could not bear if he saw his mother's continuous tears because he lamented that his father's condition was not getting better.

As for Craige himself, until now, he is still in a static state, yet to show significant improvement.

Hence is still trying to work with the doctor staff at the hospital to be able to study the case because all the actions that will be taken will be very risky, considering that Craige's age is not a young man like Dru and other children.

"Dad, don't leave us. We really love you."

"Morning Dru, you're still here. Do you want to have breakfast with me?" asked Hence when he found Dru, who was faithfully sitting next to Craige and occasionally stroking Craige's hand gently.

"Morning uncle, Mmm ... thanks for the offer, uncle, but I still want to accompany Dad."

Hence chuckled and said Craige would be nowhere if the middle-aged man woke up.

With a bit of embarrassment, Dru rubbed the nape of his neck, which was not itchy.

"Okay, if Uncle Hence forces me, I'll agree to have breakfast with you, uncle."

"Let's go!"

Like it or not, Dru was forced to leave Craige while he was alone there.

Without any conversation, the two of them walked calmly towards the canteen there.

"You have to be strong Dru, at this time, you will be the benchmark for your siblings and also your mother."

Dru didn't answer but gave a nod and a smile to Hence.
