Chereads / Bro, I Love Him! / Chapter 23 - Sacred Tree

Chapter 23 - Sacred Tree

The next morning Jack, was in his yard. The young man had come to pick him up, as Jack had said earlier that today they would travel to one of the places where there is trouble in a place they should be able to build.

"You're just in time, Jack."

"Of course, we have to finish quickly if we are to get the project back on track."

Louis nodded his head, confirming Jack's words. It is true that if he wants everything to go well, then he must really solve the problem.

Shortly after, Jack drove his car to their destination.

Louis seemed to close his eyes and comfort himself during the trip. Every now and then, Louis seemed to smile, remembering what had previously happened between him and Nara.

It's only limited to a reply to a message, which should probably not really matter in other people's minds, but for him, it is important because just a reply can destroy his feelings in a matter of minutes.

You can really say Louis really caught up with Nara's charm!

Even though Louis himself was not really aware of Nara's change of attitude before she swapped with Nate.

"Wake me up when we arrive, Jack."

"Alright," Jack replied to Louis.

.

.

The journey that Louis and Jack took for hours was finally over.

If it takes hours, why don't Louis and Jack take other transportation? For example, a plane or maybe a train like that?

Of course, Louis asked for it. This young man has been reluctant to use any other means of transportation other than private vehicles for the past few years.

For his own reasons why this was so, only Louis knew about it.

"We're here," said Jack trying to wake Louis, who was sleeping.

Louis blinked his eyes for a moment and looked at Jack to nod his head for a moment.

After that, Louis stepped out of the car and looked carefully at the land in front of him.

Some of the lands that previously contained trees or buildings that disturbed development have been cut down and torn down, and it's just that ...

"Is this the tree you meant earlier?" Louis asked when he found a large tree that stood tall among other trees that had been knocked down.

Jack quickly nodded his head and gave the tree photo that his team had previously given him.

"Where's the ax? I'll try to cut it here," Louis softly without remembering the events that occurred when people often wanted to cut down so bad things would happen to them.

Just as Louis's hand was about to swing the ax given by Jack, an old man with slightly shabby clothes came to confront Louis and said that if Louis cut it down, there would be heavy regrets happening to him.

Louis frowned in confusion.

Oh, come on, Louis is not a person who easily believes in unreasonable things, especially when everything seems irrational.

"There are still switched souls hanging around, they haven't realized it, and if you cut down the souls that should be your soul mate, it will end tragically."

Thump!

Louis's eyes were perfectly rounded, and unconsciously he immediately let go of the ax in his hand when he heard the statement from the old man in front of him.

He wanted to feel like he didn't believe what the old man had said, only suddenly he immediately remembered Nara's face.

He did not have the heart if something bad happened to Nara just because of him.

'Wait, why do I remember Nara? Is she really my match? And why did you say that souls are switched? Tch, how weird. '

Louis, who was hesitant, finally gave up his intention and looked at Jack to discuss first.

Jack, of course, was confused by Louis's attitude.

"What's the matter? Why are you so weird? Didn't you seem like you didn't care before?"

Louis sighed for a moment to stare into Jack's eyes.

"What if Nara is in danger because of my carelessness?" asked Louis suddenly.

It took a few minutes for Jack to conclude Louis's question, which he thought seemed strange to him.

"Is this still my best friend Louis I know?" Jack asked a little playfully to Louis.

Louis twirled his eyes lazily. He couldn't stop thinking that his best friend would tease him when he was seriously thinking about what was happening.

"I'm serious, Jack."

'What ?!' Jack was shocked that he didn't make a sound because, during his time, he had been friends he had never heard that Louis would believe things beyond his logic.

Jack took a deep breath and massaged his forehead. Honestly, he didn't know what to say himself. If he wants not to believe it, but why does his work say otherwise.

"I can't decide, Louis, you know that I don't believe in things like that a little, so if I level your principles with certainty, it's a little bit incongruous with you."

"Okay, I'll ask the old man earlier."

Just as Louis turned around to look for the figure who had met him, neither Louis nor Jack could find the figure of the old man.

"Where was the old man? Wasn't it just a glimpse that he was still near this tree?" asked Louis, confused.

Not much different from Louis, Jack could feel the oddity, even the hair on Jack's neck had lifted, and Jack tried to hug his own body to reduce his fear.

"What is wrong with you?" asked Louis, confused when he found Jack, who was acting strange according to him.

Jack could not make his voice, but only a head shake that Jack could give Louis.

"Tch, you coward."

'I'm not afraid, bro, it's just that I feel the cold getting closer to this tree, is this tree a sacred tree?' Monologue Jack to himself.

"Well, we will rearrange the landscape, let this tree stay here, but change the rearrangement form, leave this as an asset here, call on the architecture and others tomorrow," said Louis, who finally took a middle ground.

Indeed, Louis doesn't really believe in nonsensical things. It's just that his little heart says that there's nothing wrong with following the old man's words if he doesn't want to take the risk where he said beforehand that his soul mate would experience tragic things, what if Nara is the one who becomes a soul mate. But something bad happened to her because of him?

This is Louis's consideration for the time being. Louis doesn't want regret in his lifetime!

'Hopefully, my decision is right.'
