Zakura couldn't believe it wholeheartedly even though Toushiro had already said so. Ibara did indeed return home to Osaka, with the rest of the money he collected. He actually goes home to the house they bought, and lives together with Fuyuki while carrying the young Ashina as well.

After running away from home, the next day... His mother Toushiro and Fumiko are looking for him, his mother really suspects that his son is in Zakura's house.
Zakura was living alone with two servants in his house.
He invited his in-laws Ibara to look for his son here.
"Nothing!" he sighed in astonishment.
"I'm not hiding your son here, I don't even know he already has another wife. My son is also in Tokyo so we don't know anything." Zakura is obviously protecting Toushiro, whereas before he actually met Toushiro and told him to stay in his own house.
