"So, you're a freshman?" The woman opposite of him asked with a tone of curiosity. She had brown shoulder-length hair, a cute face, and a petite build. Overall, her features are the type of little sister you would definitely spoil.
"Yes, senior is?"
"I'm a second-year student, Clara." Clara extended her hand while smiling, showing her pearly-white teeth.
"Kael," Kael accepted her hand and shook it briefly. He could not refrain from feeling a slight disappointment upon releasing her soft palm.
But that thought was quickly removed by him, and Kael carried on with his question, "Are all the employees here students like you, senior?"
This suspicion has stuck in his mind throughout the time he was sightseeing and witnessing that almost all the people he encounters are around the same age as him.
"Yes, in case you don't know, a lot of students who have a lot of needs, but are afraid of being in the forefront would usually work this way." Clara explained before beaming a smile, "Wanna drink? My treat."
Kael subconsciously wants to decline, but remembering that it will be a sign of disrespect, he nods softly, "A glass of matcha is fine."
"Okay, wait a minute," Clara said as she rose from his seat and saunter to the kitchen area.
While waiting for his drink to arrive, Kael invokes the system to further his understanding of it.
As usual, he was first greeted by the tab of his status information.
[Name: Kael Lys]
[Level: 1]
[Strength: 11]
[Agility: 12]
[Intelligence: 9]
[HP: 55/55]
[MP: 45/45]
[EXP: 0/50]
[Available Stat Points: 5]
Remembering that he had 5 available points to spend, Kael fell into deep thought for a while before putting all his points to Intelligence. Based on his experience playing games, Kael knows that boosting his Intelligence would automatically enhance his Mana Pool as well. Since MP is essential for a Mage or Elementalist like him, Kael didn't need to think twice before assigning all his available points to INT.
The second he increases his INT, refreshing energy flows rapidly into his brain. This makes Kael's body jolted and tense for a moment as foreign forces start to enter his body. However, he relaxed his body after learning that nothing wrong is happening except that he felt his mind a lot clearer.
Realizing that his mind turned sharper, Kael nearly laughed out loud due to things he went through today. If someone tells him that there's an ability that can sharpen your mind, empower your strength, and improve your agility, he'll unquestionably won't believe such bullshit.
Yet all these absurdities that he never thought would happen, suddenly happened to him. How can he not be shocked to the point where he wants to laugh like a lunatic?
It was the first time of his experiencing something of this magnitude.
Shaking his head, Kael pinched the space between his eyebrows and changed to the other tab.
In the system, there is a total of seven tabs, including Status Information and Abilities. He then proceeds to shift to the next tab.
[Quest]
[Main Quest]
[Become Strong] (1)
[Reach level 100]
[Reward: Explanation + Unlock New Element]
'Explanation? Could it be the explanation of all these things?' Kael mused inwardly before concluding that he didn't have to be concerned about such an issue at this time.
With that thought, Kael continues his browsing.
[Save] (2)
[Reach level 20]
[Duration: 6 Months]
[Penalty: Your family will die!]
Kael's eyes immediately expanded in fear. He didn't dare to belittle the system penalty after witnessing its capability of granting him various powers. That means there's a good chance his family will actually die if he can't get to level 20 within six months. That makes his head dizzy as he unconsciously begins to picture the death of his parents.
All of a sudden, he feels a sensation of cold creeping over his forehead. Opening his eyes in doubt, Kael sees a glass of cold matcha is placed against his forehead.
"What's up? Why are you releasing such a depressing aura all of a sudden?" Clara said jokingly and went to the opposite chair after putting the glass on the table.
"Nothing." Kael smiled and reached out his hand to grab the glass before slurping greedily. When the sweetness fills his mouth, reducing his anxiousness reduces slightly.
"So, can you tell me more about Bintang Academy?" Kael asked as he wiped the excess of drink on his lip by licking them.
...
Under Clara's lecture, Kael learned many things regarding Bintang Academy. It turns out that all the restaurants, cafes, equipment shops, and even GameNet he saw throughout his stroll were operated by students. With enough credit points, the students can rent a place and use it as the basis of their shop or whatnot.
Another piece of information is that each grade has its own king or queen with its underlings. For instance, the current second-grade was led by a person named Artemia. It was said that his rank was Tier 6; in other words, he belonged to the Middle-Tier.
Kael was initially confused about what Middle-Tier is referring to, but after a brief explanation from Clara, he immediately understood.
Tier 10-7 Low-Tier
Tier 6-4 Middle Tier
Tier 3-1 Elite-Tier
Tier 0 Deity Tier
Tier 0 was called Deity Tier because their influence was on another level of the previous Tiers. It was rumoured a Deity Mage could summon a meteor, while a Deity Warrior can blast a city with a sole punch.
Although it sounds exaggerating, Kael didn't think it was a lie either, after directly witnessing how John Cenny with his Tier 4 power could generate shockwaves by a mere punch. Moreover, Kael is confident that the test building is constructed with reinforced materials. Yet, that building can tremble over John Cenny's punch.
"Woah, so what tier are you now, Senior Clara?" Kael asked as he slurped his drink.
Faced with Kael's question, Clara blushed in embarrassment before replying softly, "Can we not talk about that?"
Looking at her weird behavior, Kael slapped his forehead inwardly for not minding his own words and triggering her discomfort, "I'm sorry, Senior. Let's talk about other stuff then."
Seeing Clara nodding her head in agreement, Kael quickly changed the topic and chatted for a while before realizing he had kidnapped her for long enough that her manager glared at him the entire time.
"I think I've wasted your time long enough, Senior. I'm going to head for my dormitory now." Kael swiftly finished his drink and proceeded to stand up.
"Okay," Clara escorted him to the entrance door and said, "Please visit us in later days."
"Definitely," Kael gives her thumbs up before waving his hand, "Bye, Senior. I really appreciate your help."
"Be careful on your way."
After bidding his adieu to Clara, Kael asked a few students on the streets for guidance to the male dormitory.
Following their pointers, Kael arrived at the five-story building minutes later. Many people wearing casual clothes like him are in the middle of lining up at its entrance gate. Believing that they were from the first year as well, Kael immediately approached them.
