Chapter 3 - Chapter Two

Okami slowly walked across the forest, following behind the Alpha. Her ears twitched in worry that she will displease him. She was shocked when the Alpha demanded that he will train Okami. First, she thought it was an honor only to notice that the Alpha only did that so the other wolves don't have to train her. After all, they declined to train her. So the Alpha had to take the burden.

The trees were rustling against the cold wind, a canopy of leaves hiding all the birds soaring across the sky. Okami followed up a high cliff with the Alpha, the wind rushing across her face, blowing some small specks of rock and dust. She squinted across the wind and continued following the Alpha.

"Now, first things first. You have to learn how to fly."

Okami looked surprised.

"F-fly?"

"Of course, what a winged wolf who can't fly?"

Alpha said not turning to look at her. Okami gulped.

"I'm not sure I can..."

Okami murmured.

"Then we might just cut off your wings now."

Okami's ears flattened in fear.

"N-no, I-I'll learn how to fly."

"Good," The Alpha said. And with that, he continued along the cliff until they were at the very top. Since the elevation was high it was hard for Okami to breathe she opened her mouth trying to breathe through more air and her throat tightened. The Alpha finally looked at her. He then turned back to the edge and flung open his wings, then with that he jumped off.

Okami yelped in fear and ran over to where he jumped. She could see the Alpha's silver wings flap as he arose into the air.

"Do the same."

Okami gulped again and flung open her lavender wings, and flattened her ears against the wind. She then jumped over the cliff, her heart thumping in her ribcage. `I'm doing it!` But suddenly, her wings gave away and she started plummeting down to the ground.

"AHHH!"

Okami screamed as the wind whipped her face.

"HELP! HELP!"

She shut her eyes tight.

The wind continued lapping her face violently.

`Why does she had to die so young?`

She knew it was no use trying. So couldn't fly.

So she tucked in her flapping wings and continued rocketing down to the earth.
