Chapter 51 - Beast Horde (VI)

Yueshi spear flew perfectly toward the snake's head, aiming between its eyes.

However, when he was getting close, the snake swiped with its tail toward him and, without a choice he focused his qi on his legs and jumped, making the attack pass below him.

At the same time, the others attacked too, not giving the snake a chance to continue focusing on him.

The beast was cunning and would not let them hit the same spot time after time like a moron, so it was focusing on defending and wasting their energy, knowing that sooner or later it would win.

While descending, Yueshi watched as Yuan Yue and Ling Tian Tian cooperated, one slashing with her sword at the gigantic snake while the other knocked its tail away with a meteoric punch.

Their relationship was not that good, but right now, they were cooperating extremely well.

Baiyun was not one to lose too. He swirled around with his ax, turning into a fierce and sharp whirlwind through the use of some sort of cultivation technique.

All the vines in his path were torn to shreds at contact and he continued to move forward unstoppable… that is, until roots emerged from the ground to bind him in place.

The others were also doing great. The guy from the Heavens' Will from before, together with his whip, coordinated extremely well with his teammates making them the group with the least amount of injuries.

Although he lacked attack power, his flexible and agile movements allowed him to help his partners when they needed it.

From the eight people from the smaller associations, one had died and another had been knocked away - his fate unknown to them.

The Rising Phoenix Association had also lost one, though he had only been knocked back to the village. Fortunately, Yueshi and his friends were all still in the fight, much like the Heavens Will Association and their people.

As the battle progressed the snake revealed more of its cards.

It not only could create vines and roots, but it could also bring forth smaller snakes to fight alongside it. Though they were fairly weak, their numbers were great and they were quite annoying.

Also, other than releasing poisonous fog, the Boa King could spit out an acidic liquid that, upon contact, would burn and melt skin and bones – that was how one of the guys from the smaller associations died.

Those weren't even the most troublesome, however. The serpent could glow in a dark green color and when it did it, attacking would be meaningless as it would not suffer any damage.

Other than that it had a few other moves that were not as strong or impressive, but that were, all in all, annoying to deal with.

As the group continued to fight, they soon noticed they were going nowhere.

It did not matter if it was Yueshi's one point of extremity, Huan Xiong's flaming bird, Yuan Yue's meteoric punches… all of them seemed to be rendered ineffective in front of the Boa.

Obviously, most of them had not yet used their last cards.

Suddenly, as everyone stepped forward, the Boa King coiled around itself, a dangerous light flashing on its eyes.

Yueshi immediately noticed something was wrong, however, before he could say anything, a green smoke was released from every pore on the beast's body, turning the entire region into its poisonous territory.

Everyone was dumbfounded, both those fighting and those watching from afar, and for an instant, the only sound that could be heard was the snake's hissing.

Yueshi did not hesitate to gobble down one of the pills Xiao Yao had given him, and the other three did the same.

A few others had their own ways of dealing with the poison, however, many people fell to the ground while foaming and writhing – dying shortly after.

That was not the end, though. Before Yueshi and the others could even react, the serpent moved, its tail swiping in a circle around itself and knocking them all away.

Even Yueshi could not defend himself as he was thrown all the way back to the village, crashing against the wooden fence and only stopping after hitting his back against a house.

Immediately coughing blood, he fell to the ground.

This last attack had caused great damage to his inner organs and he could feel them churning as they seemed changed places.

However, Yueshi did not have time to complain about the pain. He had to fight – not only for the villagers but also for Xuehua, Yuan Yue, and his other friends.

At the thought of it, he immediately became anxious, worried that something had happened with any of the three that were fighting together with him.

Fortunately, the snake had attacked them all with its tail, and while they had suffered damage and had been wounded, they were all alive.

From everyone that survived the poison fog, a few had broken a few bones and could not fight anymore – including Ling Tian Tian. Baiyun was also not in a good condition as he had been impaled on the thigh by a tree branch when he flew back.

Other than Yueshi and Yuan Yue, Huan Xiong, Yi Dongfeng, the man from the Heavens' Will, and another two were still alive and able to fight, so they immediately rushed forward after suppressing their internal wounds.

Yueshi did not even have the time to bandage his head, which he had hit when he was thrown back, so blood started to flow down his face.

"Do not hold anything back anymore, or everyone will die!" Yueshi shouted at the others.

Some had been analyzing the Boa King's strength, while others were concealing their most powerful moves because of the Inner Disciple Examination.

Now, however, they had to give their all.

The Boa King had seen through them and ended injuring and killing quite a few people and, while it was the murderer, Yueshi and the others were also culprits.

If there was anyone here that was not at fault it was Yuan Yue, as she had barely trained her cultivation technique as was relying purely on her cultivation stage to fight.

Yueshi decided to explode forth with his strongest move, not daring to hold back anymore. Had he gone all out from the start, maybe his friends would not have been hurt, so he was angry – angry at the beast, angry with himself, and angry with the others.

Huan Xiong and the others knew Yueshi was right and immediately prepared their strongest moves.

Some used cultivation techniques; others took out of their robes or space bags and rings certain objects. All in all, they all were prepared to stake everything to kill the Boa King, and even the beast seemed to have sensed that as its eyes grew serious.

A streak of blue light flashed by and then, blood splashed on the ground.

Dongfeng had mysteriously arrived directly behind the snake, tearing of a single scale before being thrown back by its tail, flying far away into the forest.

The second to arrive was his companion, Huan Xiong. Her saber flashed forth bringing with it an intense, red brilliance. It was like a living fire god was descending on the world, burning the grass in a radius of thirty meters from her and the Poison Boa, scorching black many of its scales and making it hiss in pain.

A second later, roots sprung out of the ground, twisting around Huan Xiong and trying to smash her into meat paste…

Flash…

However, in a flash, all the roots had been torn apart by a handsome young man from the weaker associations. Then, with another step, the youth disappeared before appearing above the snake, the sword in his hand piercing toward the single vulnerable spot – the place that had a scale ripped off by Yi Dongfeng!

A loud groan of pain escaped the snake's throat, as the young man was knocked back from its top. However, disappearing again, he lifted Huang Xiong and disappeared – Yueshi saw him appear a few tens of meters away from the village, crashing to the ground and coughing blood.

Maybe the technique placed a heavy burden on his body, or maybe he had already been grievously wounded before.

"Tsc, as I will let you steal the spotlight." Yueshi heard a low curse as the young man from the Heavens' Will lashed with his whip.

His weapon then glowed brightly as it started to extend and extend; the whip was already long, however, now, it extended for tens of meters, coiling all around the snake before tightening and binding it in place.

Then, unexpectedly, the young man glanced at Yueshi. His eyes were still cold and disdainful, however, they transmitted a clear message – 'end this shit, now!'

"Yuan Yue, help me get there!" Yueshi spoke toward her, he could not even jump properly right now because of his wounds.

Yuan Yue immediately understood what he meant and rushed toward where he was, staying a few centimeters behind him.

Then, Yueshi jumped while trying his best to not cough up blood from the extenuation. A moment later, he felt something hit against the sole of his feet – it was Yuan Yue's palms.

She did not use any weapon and as such, she had also learned a cultivation technique that only relied on her body.

"Ten Thousand Buddha's Palms!" An ethereal, golden palm image formed around Yuan Yue's hand as pushed Yueshi forward – holding back to not cause him any damage.

The amount of power she used was enough, however; Yueshi flew toward the sky after using the ethereal golden hand as a platform, and after somersaulting in the air, he fell toward the Boa King's main head.

The sword from the youth was still there, having dug a few centimeters into the snake's flesh and meat. That was the exact point he had to hit.

'Man and spear as one! One point of extremity carves a path of blood and carnage!' The world turned silent to Yueshi and everything other than him and the Boa King disappeared, only that single point existed in his eyes.

Even when the beast broke free from its binding – may be because the young man from the Heavens' Will did not want to help Yueshi, or maybe because he committed a mistake – Yueshi did not worry.

He could see it… he could see his spear piercing the beast's flesh, tearing it apart and turning it into nothing. He could feel in his heart that, right now, nothing could stop his spear!

Everyone then watched as Yueshi fell from the sky, his spear tackling at the exact spot where the scale had been ripped off.

The sword laying there was pushed deeper before leaving on the other side, yet Yueshi's spear did not stop and traveled further in, opening a huge hole in the beast's head and destroying its brain and core.

Yet, the power behind the spear was so great that there was still more energy to be spent.

And as Yueshi's spear touched the ground it was as if the world was turning upside down!

The entire earth trembled and the vibrations could be felt from far away. In a single instant, in a fifty-meter radius, the ground cracked and caved in, giving birth to an enormous crater under the astounded eyes of the onlookers.

At the center of the crater, Yueshi stood motionless. He was leaning against his spear, his eyes closed as he bled from his eyes, mouth, and even ears.

When Yueshi opened up his eyes, he saw the same familiar ceiling from the last time he had collapsed.

He instinctively knew that he had been carried back to the old granny's house and was lying on that same bed.

When he tried to get up, he again felt something weight against his chest.

This time, however, it was not Xuehua… or better, it was not only her.

At one side of the bed, there was Xuehua, uncomfortably sleeping on a chair while holding his hand tightly as if afraid he would go away, afraid he would leave her.

He slightly squeezed her hand back, noting how soft and warm it was. However, what caught his attention the most was how it was faintly trembling, almost as if his sister was having nightmares.

Yuan Yue sat on the other side of the bed, and this disciple sister of his was lying with her head on his chest while sitting on a chair.

Right now, she was sleeping, yet tears continuously fell from her eyes. From the way her robe was drenched, he knew she had been crying for a long while already.

At the sight, he could only make an awry smile and sigh.
