It was a good thing I had found this job, I had only a few thousand yen left. I began to hum LinkinPark's Iridescent, as I began to open up and prepare for the breakfast rush. I took off my leathers and stashed my purse in the break room. Slipping on the rest of my uniform, I greeted my co-workers as they walked in. It was two hours in and I was finally able to take a break.
Feeling peckish, I walk over to the display cabinet to get a snack out. I then notice my friends at a nearby table and walk over to catch up with them before they leave, heading for their classes at the local college.
Next, I bumped into my employer/friend. Her name was Emi and her two kids were Kyoya and Takashi. I babysat for Emi when needed or if I needed to use my washer and dryer. She was an old hippy, But so were my folks.
They just didn't go all flower power to the extreme. With my mom coming from old money; but thanks to my grandmother she didn't get any of her inheritance and my dad being an old marine; you can get quite the interesting mood from the household.
The family conversations were almost legendary source material.
While I was on break, Emi asked if I could keep an eye on the kids so she could go talk to one of her teachers. Loving kids as much as I do agree without complaint. She promised some free lunch in return.
Whether it was homemade or take-out I was happy for it. Even with the job, it's sometimes difficult to spread the money for bills and food. Like debating whether to spend money on meat or hygiene products. The gamble is real.
With a grin, I pulled the kids over to the table where my friends were.
The first person who stood out the most was my tall-ass friend, Suzuki Kyo. He was borderline seven-feet tall and lanky. His hair was cut short with rare green eyes and the only way to tell that he was over 18 was the bit of soul patch on his chin. Dressed in jeans and a graphic t; that had something to do with a video game. He stood up to give me a hug as I sat down with the kids.
"Tia! Good to see you. I was worried that you got arrested for trying to take over the world." He snickered.
Giving him a half-hearted glare at the jibe, I retorted. "Saying things like that will lose you your spot in my plan for world domination." He proceeded to bow and plead for mercy to keep his spot.
"What? what about me? What continent do I get?" This was my friend Takamura Suzie or Squizzy. I was either Latino or a black Asian-Oblasain; I think that was the term. Anyway, I had my hair straightened, as it was usually black with my bangs sweeping to the side. my dress went down to my knees and was a slimming black with the chesty area purple as it hugged my boobs.
I gave the kids some of my cookies as I answered. "Well I have Japan, Kyo has Russia,.." Turning to my other friend, I asked. "You never stated what country you wanted when I take over the world."
Yamashida Kyoko was a punk. Her hair was curly and no longer golden blond like when they first met, but an ebony color with teal bangs. I had tattoos and wore them proudly. I had one whole sleeve on my left arm almost finished, a chest piece, and multiple ones across my body. my outfit consisted of a teal spaghetti tank with skinny jeans that she had asked me to draw a rainbow leopard pattern diagonally from left hip to bottom right pant leg. They looked cool.
With her dark blue eyes suddenly giving me their attention, replied in a whimsical tone, "Germany. Sounds like a nice place minus the whole Nazi thing."
Kyo gave a snort. "Yeah, no kidding."
He was then double-timed with a punch in the shoulder from Suzy and Kyoko since he was sitting between them. The look on his face was priceless as he tried to rub the soreness away.
This got the whole table laughing as he pouted. "You're so mean to me!" He turned to me with puppy eyes. "Why didn't you save me?"
I raised an eyebrow. "You're a minion, You don't get saved. You follow orders, so if I say go forth and multiply, you damn well better do it."
This made poor Kyo give a severely confused look. His look read that he couldn't tell if he was embarrassed or excited at my statement. This made me and the othey girls giggle madly.
Suzie cleared my throat. "Well, I have decided that I will have Europe."
"Really? Why on earth would you want that?" Kyo stated, mystified.
"It's where the inspiration for Lolita Fashion began!" I exclaimed.
I was just about to comment on that when the cafe doors were blown open, showering glass on nearby customers.
