Chereads / The Wolf Girl Named Atti / Chapter 13 - Dead

Chapter 13 - Dead

We follow the guards to a new door and looked inside before we went in. It was a long dark tan hallway that went about forty feet before there were stairs. The walls had torches every few feet. the stairs descended into darkness. I looked at Alvion to see his reaction but it was of full curiosity. So I grabbed a nearby torch and began my descend down.

I heard behind me Alvion yelling at me to be careful but I didn't care my curiosity was at its peak right now. I was walking into the darkness when I heard Alvion yelling at the guards once again and footsteps coming closer. He was telling them to watch me better and I shouldn't be going alone. The guard had to us that no one went down these steps yet but only to the top to inform us there was a set of steps before descending.

I noticed Alvion was caught up to me and had a torch of his own. I watched him as his face seemed full of concern. "What's got you so bothered?" I whispered to him. He didn't say anything in reply. He must have not heard me or wasn't paying attention. I looked down into the darkness once more and continues down the steps. I really couldn't see anything so I decided to go into my half form.

I heard a few gasps behind me as my white ears and tail popped out. I was beginning to see farther ahead. It looked like a never-ending staircase. My eyes finally adjusted to the darkness and see the bottom of the stairs. "I see the end" I yelled to everyone. I began to speed up as Alvion raced down after me. I didn't hear what he was saying to Eijiro behind me but I ignored it. I finally reached the bottom and my ears were twitching trying to find any noise that could be heard. The only noise was the wind blowing through.

I looked to Alvion he was also in his half for. His beautiful crimson red wings which matched his red eyes. The long red horns on the top of his head. That spiraled up. His crimson red eyes seemed to glow in the darkness even with the torch he was holding out in front of him. "Atti is something wrong can you hear something I cant?" He asked me once he began to look around to light the other torches on the walls.

THUMP

CRASH

We all jumped Alvion flew to my side and grabbed me. We faced the darkness as I was pushed behind him. He began to growl. It was a very deep and dark demonic growl. My ears went back flat onto my head. I shifted into my wolf form and got in front of him. He grabbed my neck and tried to pull me back. "Don't get behind me. I can fight !" He growled at me. "No, you cannot get into your full form in this small room," I growled back. I sniffed the air and it had a metallic scent to it. "Blood?" "What I don't smell any!" Alvion yelled. "It's either that or something else."

I began to stalk forward with Alvion right on my tail. Literally. I saw movement in the dark and ran after it. Alvion was behind me yelling at me to stop but I latched onto the object only to see it was just rats. I let go of the one that was now in my mouth dead. I looked back over to see the guards and Alvion running to me.

"WHAT HAPPENED?! WHY ARE YOU COVERED IN BLOOD!" Alvion screamed at me as he grabbed my face looking me over. I began to laugh and he looked so confused. "Its okay, Im fine. It was just attacked a rat. I thought it was something else." I told him still laughing. I shift into my half form and was still slightly covered in blood. I used my cloak to wipe it off. Alvion let out a gasp and I turned around to see...

---------- Alvions POV ----------

I followed Atti in the darkness but could only see so much. My eyesight wasn't as good as hers was in the dark so I had to slow down. I heard a deep growl and a squeal of an animal. I began running in that direction to only see Attis' white fur covered in red. I ran up to her and began screaming and checking her all over. She started to laugh at me and I stopped for a second. The only words I was able to hear from her was "It was only a rat." I calmed down and sighed. Until the guards came closer with the torches and I seen it in the corner of the room against a wall.

A body.
