Chapter 52 - Mass Murder Weapon

Ellendise entertained the fairy for a few hours before finally feeling tired.

"Ellen, why are you locked up here?" Cestine suddenly asked while they were eating desserts after dinner.

"The doors and windows aren't locked." Ellendise raised her hand, stopping the tart that flew towards her face. It hovered in midair, mere inches away from her. She levitated it back to the fairy.

"This is what humans normally do after suffering from betrayal. They get depressed and sad, lock themselves up away from people so they could take time to recover their emotions."

Cestine gobbled up the tart before answering. "Humans are so stupid!" She waved her flowery hands in the air like fists.

By now, Ellendise was immune to being called 'stupid' especially when the Archduke called her the same thing.

"Humans are so weak. Cestine and the rest of Cestine's kind don't do stupid things like this! When Cestine is angry, Cestine just kills the people that makes it hard for Cestine. Also, Cestine likes to eat. Eating makes all the bad things go away... Sometimes... sometimes..." The fairy giggled.

"Sometimes, Cestine also eats humans that annoys Cestine. Especially the humans that tries to kill the adorable Cestine."

Ellendise sipped her tea calmly despite hearing this.

"Also, also! You humans are so weird. If you're betrayed by someone, you should also make that person suffer. Hehe, Ellen, who betrayed you? Do you want Cestine to help Ellen? Cestine is strong. Cestine can kill everyone here!" The fairy boasted proudly as if she was doing Ellendise a favor. Ellendise did not doubt Cestine's capability.

On Ellendise's lap, was a book with a title, 'Dark Spirits of the Spirit World.'

The book detailed a long dark history about what 'fairies' truly are, effectively destroying every kids' childhood fairytale and misconceptions about the fairies that made any person's wish come true.

These mysterious creatures of light were actually dark spirits of the Spirit World that rarely went to visit the human realm.

In fact, they weren't really creatures of light to begin with but most people had form a misconception about them. Because fairies rarely ever appear infront of humans, they were revered and placed in high esteem.

The appearance of a fairy always signaled that a talented youth had appeared because fairies only ever appear in the human realm if someone or something had intrigued them. Moreover, being able to cross the bridge between the spirit world and human realm is a tiring chore that requires a lot of mana and energy.

No ordinary spirit is capable of going in and out of the human realm unless they have a contractor that would allow them to borrow mana, supplying their existence in the human realm. When the mana runs out, those spirits would go back to the spirit world to recuperate.

For Cestine who did not look the least bit bothered in appearing at the human realm without a contractor, already says just how much power and magic a tiny creature was holding.

'Fairies are ridiculously strong... Maybe even stronger than dragons...' Ellendise thought. Ellendise has never seen a dragon but she had seen a few wyvern knights patrolling around the county. Wyverns weren't as vicious as dragons but they were also carnivores with tempers. Only a skilled knight would be able to ride and tame one.

Ellendise took a bite of one of the tarts.

Of course, she was also pretty competent for being able to gain a fairy's interest. No matter what Cestine thought, as long as she was interested on Ellendise, she'd be useful to her.

The following night, Ellendise was busy drawing something. The stack of papers in her table were testament to how many things she had drawn.

'If I can't use a sword and I can't use magic, then I would just have to resort to the next best thing.' Ellendise thought while looking at the things that she had drawn on the papers. A satisfied smile was on her face as she imagined the final product and how she would once again hold such a familiar weapon beside her.

Her eyesight was still pretty good so aiming wouldn't be a problem and it wasn't like her arms were useless. Improving her grip strength was a pretty easy task.

What she really needed to take into account was the fact that she needed to find several blacksmiths that would make the items for her. Moreover, they have to be skilled since the measurements were very strict.

The M1911 pistol.

The cartridge consists of the cartridge case, primer, propelling charge, and the bullet. The complete assembly weighs approximately 327 grains and its bullets are known for having a round nose and flat base. With so much copper resources available in all parts of the empire, making the bullets that didn't even pass 0.68 inch would be relatively easy as long they follow her instructions.

Ellendise didn't really want to release this kind of mass murder weapon to the world so she was very cautious and planned to make the blacksmiths make them in separate parts so even if the order was made, they wouldn't know what to do with it since they would only be holding one part of the whole gun.

In this world where magic is more advanced than technology, who would ever think that a ten-year-old is capable of producing a long distance weapon that didn't need mana?

'This is for self-defense' Ellendise thought but her smile was somewhat scary as she thought this.
