Looking at the innocent little Letia, Ellendise could understand why the novel described her as that kind of woman.
"Hello! I'm Letia Rhaine! Daddy said it's Miss Vitron's birthday today. I'm sorry for bothering you but I got lost and I don't know where Daddy is. I also want to congratulate Miss Vitron today. But I don't know what she looks like..." The sweet face of the female lead and her childlike voice was really powerful. Ellendise really wasn't surprised to know that this woman would be the crown princess someday.
Ellendise smiled.
"It's nice to meet you, Miss Rhaine. My name is Ellendise Ariadne Mielle Vitron. I will escort you to the venue." Ellendise bowed gracefully before extending her hand.
The ten-year-old Letia was a bit surprised but as a child, she wasn't as vigilant and it was in her personality to be kind.
Letia naturally smiled back at Ellendise and accepted her hand.
"It's nice to meet you, too, Miss Vitron. And happy birthday! I'm also ten years old like you. Daddy said I should make friends with my age. I want to be Miss Vitron's friend!"
Other people in her place would have panicked but Ellendise gave a lukewarm smile. She wouldn't walk the path of the villainess and she wouldn't antagonize Letia.
As long as Ellendise lived her life and Letia lived hers, she wouldn't experience any kind of bad or lonely ending.
In fact, maintaining a positive relationship with the female lead was ideal. In the first place, the novel described Letia and Ellendise as childhood friends when they were young.
It wouldn't hurt to make this come true.
And...
With this cute and innocent little doll face? Who would not want to befriend this little Letia?
Ellendise had a hard time maintaining her calm façade while looking at the young female lead.
"Please... You can call me Ellen. I also want to be friends with Miss Rhaine."
"Then, you can also call me Letia. I don't have a lot of friends my age and Miss Ellen is my first! I can't wait to tell Daddy!"
'How cute.' The ten-year-old rabbi--
The ten-year-old Letia was really innocent. Usually, aristocrats of this age were already wary of befriending others but the little Letia didn't seem to have the same self-preservation.
Ellendise squeezed their intertwined hands gently.
"Your father is Baron Martin Rhaine, right? Then allow me to escort you back. I would like to meet my mother's brother who is the father of my first friend."
The ten-year-old Letia's blue eyes sparkled as she looked at Ellendise.
Ellendise didn't seem to understand why the little girl was looking at her with a look of admiration but she soon ignored it and gently guided them to the venue.
The two little girls immediately caught the guests' attention. Both of them were akin to innocent little sweethearts when they came holding each other's hand.
The black haired Letia with blue eyes and the silver haired Ellendise with reddish pink eyes.
These two little girls became the center of people's attention with their stunning appearance.
"Oh my, is that the count's daughter?"
"And that little girl is Baron Rhaine's daughter, right? The light mage?"
"The count is blessed with a lovely daughter."
"I heard she looks just like her mother but seeing it in person is still unbelievable. "
"The countess has always been a woman of beauty."
"But Baron Rhaine's daughter is also exceptional. She's a rare light mage."
The girls ignored the whispers around them. It was common for aristocrats to talk here and there.
"Daddy!"
"Hello, father."
Both of them called when they saw the count and baron.
Count Vitron was smiling as he approached his daughter.
"Ellen, darling. Father has been looking everywhere for you. I told your brother off. Don't worry. I've already ordered the butler to renovate the family library. Before you know it, it's going to be filled with countless of books. Of course, anything for my darling daughter."
Ellendise was amused. So in the end, Nitense received a lecture from the count for his tactless gift but Ellendise did like the sword. She was planning on telling the count that she wants to learn how to wield a sword.
But that was for later.
"Father, I made a friend."
"Oh?" The count showed a look of surprise but she seems to know who she was referring to.
"Daddy, I also made friends with Miss Ellen! Miss Ellen was kind enough to show me back. You were right, daddy. Miss Ellen is really beautiful!"
The innocent Letia kept singing praises about Ellendise which made the count puff out his chest as if he was the one being praised.
Baron Rhaine was somewhat embarrassed by his daughter's unfiltered words but seeing that the count wasn't offended, he immediately relaxed.
"Letia, mind your manners in front of the count. Have you greeted the young lady yet?"
"Yes, Daddy. "
The baron was satisfied with his daughter's response.
"Forgive me for troubling you, Miss Vitron. My daughter is very carefree but she's a kind child. I hope she didn't offend you in any way."
Baron Rhaine was a good father for lowering his head and apologizing for his daughter. He seems to really care a lot about Letia and it wasn't just because she was a rare light mage but because he really did love his daughter.
There weren't many aristocrats like him. Many viewed their daughters as nothing but political tools to gain power.
Letia was lucky that she has a loving father.
"Not at all, Baron Rhaine. Letia has a pleasant personality. I would like to invite her over for a cup of tea this weekend. Of course, if Letia is amicable then I would be very glad to have her over." Ellendise's soft voice and elegant way of carrying herself was charming in its way.
It also wasn't a secret that many of the guests were listening and many of them were jealous.
Ellendise didn't care about them.
She wanted nothing to do with these power hungry leeches.
