I walked away quicker than I had imagined myself. When I knew that no one was around, I leaned against the hallway that had lead to the garden. The smell of the flowers still in the air as I felt myself shaking a little. I kept myself still and tried to calm down so that I wouldn't have to deal with the stares of people in the castle. The place was empty, but I couldn't help but still feel the eyes of the man. Is it because I like guys that he thought he could manipulate me into things I didn't want to do? Was he going to try and take me away from here and kill me for being different?
The air turning to a thick smoky breath. I looked around after a huge sigh, looking into the doors that lead to the inside of the castle. I gulped as I inched closer, each step got hotter and hotter as if the castle had been on fire. I could see tiny ashes flake from the sides of the door, to which I hurried to open the doors. As soon as they flung open, I was faced with nothing but a regular hallway. With it, was someone I didn't expect. Prince William and the king.
I bowed to show my respect but before they could speak I sped around them and walked off towards my room. All I knew was if I was in front of someone I would end up embarrassing myself. I was glad when I didn't hear them call after me. I did seem a little suspicious and rude but I couldn't help but panic. God! It's my first day here and I'm freaking out. Where's Maiden Sarah?
"Maiden Sarah?" I called into my room, hoping that she was straightening up. I heard her speak from inside, asking me to come in why she put the clothes away. I went in slowly, making sure to not look worried. I closed the door and went over to my bed, to which I sat as if laying down wasn't even respectable.
"Is anything wrong Master Jess?" She asked as she poked her head from the closet. I smiled nervously and she got the hint that I wanted some company.
"I need to talk to someone about this and it can't be Prince William or the king," I said. She raised her long maid dress and sprinted over to where I was. She sat on the bed and nodded for me to continue as she finished something she was sewing.
"There was that prince we saw outside earlier that dismissed you. He was just coming back from a meeting when he came to talk to me. He looked at me as if I was his...no he looked as if he wanted to do something to tear me apart and leave me dead on a horse farm. I tried to get away but he said that he wanted to play violin tomorrow. I wanted to disagree but by then I felt as if it would start a war between two kingdoms. I didn't want that just because of me!" I stated.
"I get it" She agreed, "I couldn't have done it any differently. Maybe after the violin thing, you'll be left alone to think of something. Do you want to go eat in the dining room with the king, queen, and prince? I'm sure they would love to get to know you" She said.
I wanted to agree but after what I had just done, I saw in rude to go and eat. I explained to her what had happened when I opened the doors, completely leaving out the part where I had seen ashes coming out of the door. It had to be a vision. She shook her head.
"I'm sure they thought you had something busy to do. Just come with me and we'll get you ready to go to the dining room" She grabbed my arms and gently pulled me from the bed. As she dressed me into something new, I heard a quiet yet firm knock on the door.
"Come in" I hummed once I knew I was dressed fully. Maiden Sarah glanced up at the door but as soon as she saw the prince she looked back at me and started to brush through my hair again. I kept my eyes in the mirror, watching Prince William's every move as he walked towards me. I blushed as I felt arms wrap around my waist and his face get buried in my neck. I relaxed as I watched Maiden Sarah give me that 'You know you like it' look at she left the room to be respectful.
"Are you ok?" He muttered through my neck, "You seemed upset earlier. Did something happen?" He asked. I turned my body so I could wrap my hands to hug him.
"No, No, I'm fine. Nothing happened I just panicked because I'm in this castle and I'm learning so much about this place. I...I met Prince Deven" I finally got the words out. He was silent for a minute, his grip getting stronger.
"Did he do anything?" He asked, his voice getting lower and darker.
"No!" I snapped fast, "No No No No No. Nothing happened, he just told me about him and I told him about me and then I left" I said. I knew It didn't matter since I and William weren't even in a relationship, but it was rude because the whole reason I was here, was because I wanted to see how it goes and give it a chance.
"Hey, why don't we go get some dinner?"
