Ally was lost in the abyss of the man's eyes. It was as black and beautiful as a moonless night sky. He stood like the perfect sculpture, a real work of art, that no one dares to touch or say 'Ooh', but just admire in silence.
However, Ally has never seen herself as a pipsqueak. She soon realized that this man's incivility dwarfs his good-looks. 'Such a pity,' she mused.
"Excuse us," she said, assertively.
The man disregarded her, and Ally's brows snapped together. 'Of all the nights, these cockroaches choose to roam tonight and this one is looking for a drubbing,' she mused.
She glared at him and just when she was about to get violent with him, she heard someone call her name.
"Ally!" Lexi said in a high-pitched voice. It amazed her at what she saw her cousin did a few minutes ago and just snapped out of her reverie.
When Ally looked back, she saw Lexi approached her and held her hands. She forgot about the man in front of them. "I thought you were out with your friends," Ally said.
"We were in that room when we heard the rumpus out here."
"Oh, um... I'm sorry about that," she apologized.
"Ally, you're a real fireball...I was in awe," Lexi complimented and her eyes lit up.
Ally's face turned red with embarrassment. She looked up and saw Madison standing in a corner and she waved her to come over.
"Madison this is my cousin Lexi, Lexi this is my best friend," she introduced the two, and they greeted each other warmly. The two peas finally meet each other.
"We will head back down, I'll see you at home."
Toby approached and stopped them. "Why don't you guys join us in the room? It's more convenient to get away from the crowd and treat those bruises."
Lexi nodded her head in seconded her man's suggestion. Ally had already refused her invitation earlier and didn't want the couple to think she was avoiding them. She accepted, grabbed Madison's hand, and walked in behind them.
Upon entering the room, Ally saw three men sitting, drinking and exotic ladies serving beside them. One of the men she noticed was the idiot who blocked her path in the corridor.
"This pudding-head again," she said in an undertone.
"Gentlemen, this is Lexi's cousin Alyssa and her friend Madison," said Toby with a smile.
"Nice to meet you, but I just have one question. What did those men do to earn a thrashing from a princess like you?" Zane asked curiously.
Ally flushed red so much her face looked like a satin ribbon, and at that moment she looked adorable and gloriously charming.
Zane thought she was blushing from his words but Ally was red-faced with added alcohol. She refused to answer and just pulled Madison to sit with her beside Lexi.
The manager came in with an ice pack and handed it to Toby, and he passed it to Madison. When Zane saw Madison put the pack on her face, he figured out what happened.
The girls sat quietly, and the guys talked. It bore Ally and Lexi, even the hyper Madison spoke little and just drank shots to numb her pain.
Ally sat squinting and her mind full. 'Fucky fuck, why did they had to see that?' She mused. She wanted a fresh start and to live a simple life, but the universe just won't give her a break. What she hates most is seeing people being taken advantage of. Of all the places this was the one she meets her cousin. She never wanted these people to see this ruthless side of her. No one knew what she was thinking for a long time. She groaned within and wished she would not be here.
"Old man, your birthday is around the corner. Are you throwing a party?" Zane asked. He was the most chatty of all the men. His mouth went around like clockwork.
"No plans. It's a normal day and I don't feel like entertaining or wooing any geezers," Toby said and shrugged.
Zane gave him a roguish look and asked, "Lexi, what do you have plan for your fiancé's birthday?"
"Absolutely nothing, you heard what he said," Lexi said, smiling.
Zane kissed his teeth, shook his head, and announced, "From tomorrow onwards I will find new fun friends."
"Go find them now," Cade commented.
Zane plastered a smile on his face and shouted, "Madison, look Cade is bully me."
Madison went white when she saw Cade's serious expression and wished the earth could suck her in at that very moment. 'This blabber-mouth,' she mused.
Ally was so lost in her thoughts and failed to hear their conversation.
"Do you want to dance?" She whispered in Madison's ears and she nodded. They both desperately wanted to get out of that room.
She asked Lexi the same, but she said, "I would love to, but, Toby will get jealous if I dance with you guys, knowing we will attract men." She rolled her eyes and added, "He will insist on joining me, but then he will get horny when we dance and I'm already tired from our action earlier."
Ally started coughing and Lexi patted her back. She choked on her drink when she heard Lexi's words. She realized her cousin was a confident and outspoken woman. 'I just needed a yes or no. Whew! So much information to pollute my mind,' she mused.
She got up and down someone's half glass wine, mixed with hard liquor that was on the table, and slammed it back on the table. She screwed up her face and coughed at the burning sensation in her throat. "Yuck," she mumbled.
She was clearly tipsy and added loudly, "Let's go, Sugar-daddy!"
"Have fun!" Lexi said with a light laugh.
Zane halted them and curiously asked, "Where are you guys going?"
Ally held the door, glanced back provocatively, face flushed, and said, "Dancing."
"Can I join you?" he asked.
"Join me? Okay, maybe I'll make rings around you," Ally said and exited. She went down with Madison's hand in hand, feeling like she was floating on the clouds, but aware of everything around her.
The guys just watched Ally with their mouths agape and Lexi laughed at them. She thought Ally looked charming and extremely beautiful when intoxicated.
Zane got up to leave but someone pulled him back down to his seat. 'Who the hell dare to stop me?' He wondered and looked to be met with a cold glare.
**********
This English rose astounded Ethan. He curled his lips and gave a barely visible smile at Ally's action.
Earlier, he stepped out of the room to take a smoke and avoid his friends' scrutinizing eyes. They knew he was hiding something and was not ready to confide in them, so they talked about other matters, but the eagerness still roamed around them.
He leaned on the rail and looked down at the women wildly gyrating their bodies and hungry men feasting their eyes on their prey. The loud music, the flashing lights, and alcohol were giving them an emotional high. None of this did that for him, it dispirited him.
"Bang!"
He looked to his side and saw a man groaning on the floor and a broken clay plant pot beside him. It was a lone woman fighting with a gang.
He continued to observe the brawl and was transfixed by her nimbleness as she beat the men. He was so focused on the scene before him and didn't realize the people came out of the room. He did not hear Toby asking about the situation. He did not see Lexi's shocked expression and Zanes dancing eyes. Also, did not notice the girl on the floor and Cade's frown.
The only thing Ethan could see was Ally.
He was still in a daze as she walked through the crowd, closer to him. He unconsciously stood in her path and she seemed irritated. She looked at him with green, confused eyes. Her pupils flared with impatience.
He thought she was really not the typical woman one meets every day. She totally captivated him, to the point of him taking no notice of his surroundings. 'This is borderline crazy,' he mused. She was as beautiful and dangerous as the shower of broken glass. Her shattered pieces glimmered in the dim-lit corridor. She was dangerous territory he dared not to cross and decided to stay far away from her.
When she walked into their room, he secretly studied her closely. He figured she was uncomfortable or depressed because she sat quietly and quaffed glass after glass of alcohol.
"Lexi's cousin is really hot!" Zane said, eyeing her.
"She'll kick your ass," Toby remarked.
"I would willingly take the ass whooping for a lifetime with her," Zane said.
The men looked at him because that was the first time Zane has ever talked about a future with a woman.
Ethan watched Ally pick up his glass of wine and gobbled it. Her face flushed and lips swollen from her gnawing at them.
"Let's go Sugar-daddy!" He heard Ally say and was bemused by her every action.
When she answered Zane's question and headed out the door with her friend, he thought she looked alluring. He felt his heart fluttered, sex pistol jerked and tightened in its fabric.
His body was betraying him, he's never had this reaction to anyone since Isabella.
He pulled down Zane when he stood to join Ally. 'Why did I do that? Why am I behaving like this?' He pondered.
He picked up the bottle of hard liquor, filled the same glass Ally used moments ago, and drank it straight.
Toby observed Ethan's every action since the scene of Ally's fight. He smirked at his friend's action. It never interests him to move on, but now Ally has gotten his attention.
He doesn't know much about Ally, but he knows Ethan enough to want him to find happiness. 'She could make him feel again, so I will do everything to put them together,' Toby mused.
"With the state, they're in, I don't think we should leave them downstairs alone," Toby said seriously.
"I agree," said Zane and was the first man out the door.
Ethan sighed and headed out the door with long strides, but stopped in the corridor and lit a cigarette.
When the others came out of the room, they saw him looking down at the crowd. Their eyes followed his gaze and their eyes widened at Ally.
She attracted a lot of attention and whistles from countless men. After all, her beautiful face, long legs, and curvy figure were rare in this nightclub. She looked like an international top model. She was hot and didn't shy away from that. Men approached her flirting while she danced. Surrounded by them, she just smiled like a goddess observing her worshippers, waiting to squash their ridiculous desires.
"Hon, do you think she's okay out there?" Lexi said worriedly.
"Let's just keep watching. We've seen her handle herself earlier," Toby said with a mischievous smile and glanced sideways at Ethan. He was the chef that checks to see if the pot needs more spice and adds it.
Ethan was smoking heavily. His sour expression was hidden by the smoke clouds that engulfed him. He leaned on the pillar and watched Ally danced seductively. He was anxious and felt the need to warn her about the danger of the nightclub, but that wasn't his position.
"Oh, my god! Lexi, your cousin is a femme fatale! Total fire!" Zane blurted as he feasts his eyes.
