Chapter 50 - The Arrival

The black ships entered the harbor hundred fold at a time. Their collosal colored tassel sails flickering in the wind like strands of various colored flame wild and free.

The chieftan and his eldest daughter Vulcra, were standing in wait beside one another along the edge of the harbor to greet the arrivals. Torches lit as a path way leading up to them. Donned in ceremonial black and red cloaks with the young heir to the Red'ayo clan's hair kept neatly folded and hidden under a spiral conical headdress protruding behind her head. Behind them were all the rest of the high chieftain's children, family, his wife, his heirs, and cousins. All waiting for the other clan leaders to disembark.

The first ship to dock held the dezidens of amber isle. A massive bronze ship with orange sails and a white flickering circular flame at it's center resembling a flaming flower. The front bow of the ship opened like a gaping jaw to revela a tongue of a rampart to allow it's passengers to greet their red brethren and neighbors. Their tattos were in the patterns of vines, leaves, and coiling foliage. With the majority having thick black and brown curly hair.

A large elderly crustaren was the first to exit and approach. His orange cracked shell and arched back hunched and desaturated and as he walked slowly yet assuredly holding a walking staff in hand wrapped in green and amber flowers around it's grip to the very top.

Key'o!! The elderly crustaren called out upon coming face to face with his ward. The chieftains of red and orange smiled and embraced one another fondly with a tight lock of the arms and a warm tender hug, patting and colliding tightly each other's shelled backside loudly and proudly for all to hear.

It's good to see you again my boy. Spoke elder Mar'ako. This years harvest has been plentifull and abundant. I trust we shall have a truely grand feast this year!

We have all been looking forward to it. Nodded Key'o.

The next chieftain's ship to arrive was a sleek and lean vessel sharpened to a point, with blue triangular sails and a green swirling flame at it's center. Out of the head ship leading the procession came a tall and lean crustaren chieftaine'ss of the northern most clan of Ardak'i, her shell a polished gleaming turquoise blue with hints of green shade embedded in the exterior. He tattoos swirling wave patterns similar to the monarchy architecture. Behind her a massive freshly slain bestial great white shark was in the proccess of being carried ashore on a strecher to be carried off and roasted for the feasting in the morning.

The third chieftan was a young man, caluclated and decked in green with hints of gold.

The fourth chieftaness

Things felt different when the final clan arrived.

Some clans are more accepting of female rulers than others. Our strong belief in the fertility goddess k'noa means we are more inclined to accept matriarch rule for our islands daughters are her vessels of growth and renewing life.
