Chapter 1 - Prologue

It was already afternoon with the last period being tackled thoroughly by the teacher. With only three more minutes left on the clock before the students are allowed to go home.

To pass on the time, Kazuto decided to gaze out of the window, as he endured each second that felt like torture just waiting for the school bells to ring.

"Kazuto? What are you still doing here?" a monotone, yet familiar voice asked Kazuto.

Kazuto gazed up, seeing a bland expression coming from the person who asked him. He is wearing the same uniform as he was, as his brown hair glimmered from the sunlight passing through the window, while his black eyes weren't even shining in the slightest interest to what he just asked.

"Nothing Leif, I'm just waiting for the lecture to end. Now be quiet before the teacher scolds us both," he replied in an uninterested manner.

"The school bells rang like five minutes ago, haven't you heard? It was loud and clear," Leif responded.

Kazuto's bored expression broke in an instant, his hand lying on the table flinched, and his eyes widened.

He slowly gazed away from the window and towards the classroom hoping that Lief would be bluffing. However, no one was no longer there other than their classmates who were still willing to chat at a time like this.

'Damn it, Why didn't I recognize that! I feel like a fool!! No, I should stay calm, as long as I'm calm I'm sure I can still slide myself away from this embarrassing moment!' Kazuto thought to himself.

Unfortunately for him, Leif had completely realized every single bit that he couldn't even help but make a smug expression.

"Heh, should have stayed focused on class," Leif muttered.

"Tsk... fine you win," Kazuto muttered in defeat as he looked towards Leif with a bitter gaze.

Leif responded with a slight chuckle that sounded like a mock, as he gazed down at Kazuto's pathetic expression.

"But I wonder? Why didn't the teacher warn me or at least punished me for my actions?" Kazuto wondered while he rubbed his chin.

"Well... to answer your question, the teacher did warn you. She even gave you a dark and devilish stare that even I would be terrified of, but you seem to didn't care at all. The teacher just gave up and left," Leif answered.

He then twirled his right hand and snapped his fingers, as sparkles shine from Leif's lifeless eyes as he continued.

"You absolute madman! And hopeless of a person"

'You didn't have to insult me like that,' Kazuto thought to himself, feeling demoralized.

All of a sudden, a beautiful girl with her skin smooth and white, and her hair black and silky entered the classroom.

"Oh, Kazuto you're still here?" She said in a soft and timid voice, as she smiled and waved towards Kazuto.

Both Leif and Kazuto gazed towards where the heavenly cute voice was coming from, as they were curious as to who she was.

She was wearing the same uniform as both of them, but there was one major difference, and that was the tie. Her tie was colored in blue, signifying that she's a junior, unlike Kazuto and Lief which was red, signifying that they're both seniors.

"Oh, it's her," Lief muttered, while Kazuto nodded in response.

The girl then approached Kazuto, while Lief just stood gazing at the both of them as he slowly sigh.

"Oh, hello Lia. I was just talking to Lief over here—"

Lia hugged Kazuto with pleasure, as her eyes closed, and her soft lips smiled. Kazuto could feel her small breast pushing towards him, as her smooth face turned red, while their skin rubbed each other.

"I missed this," Lia whispered, as he slowly bit Kazuto's ear.

The remaining students who were still there in the room watched, as some of them blushed and slightly screamed, mostly girls, that couldn't hide their romantic excitement at this sudden scene.

While the boys just brushed it off their shoulders and continued what they were doing, while others did give smug expressions.

With this single close hug from a girl towards a guy. This would only conclude that their relationship is not only friends but above that. This would only mean that both of them have a romantic relationship. However, that isn't the case.

"Get off me! What do you think you're doing!" Kazuto said, as he slowly pushed Lia away from him with not even a single fluster on his face.

"But why not, when we were young you would even go to the extent of kissing me to the chick," Lia said while pouting.

"Different situation," Kazuto replied in annoyance.

"But there's nothing more romantic than a boy having a romantic relationship with her younger sister! Am I right guys!?"

One of the boys in front shouted. Which was then followed by a "Yeah!" from some of the crowd behind.

"Both of us are blood-related!! Not in a chance I would see my sister like that!" Kazuto yelled in anger.

As the commotion continued even further, Lief sighed and watched. However, he suddenly heard yells between two people just in the hallways, yells that other students were too busy to even notice.

'What is going on out there?' he questioned himself, as he gazed towards the exit.

"Well, guess I'm going then. I won't be intervening between your 'sibling relationship' you two have been developing for the past years." Lief said.

"Wait! You can't be serious!? Don't go, at least back me up here," Kazuto desperately yelled towards Leif.

However, Lief just gazed away calmly and walked outside of the room and into the hallway, completely ignoring what Kazuto just said.

He then exited the room and watched as the two seniors fight over something. All he knew about was the other student near the window was making the outburst, as the other tried to consult him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to—"

"Didn't mean to what!? I've told you since we enrolled in this school and yet you still insist on doing it!"

"Hey! Both of you, what's going on here?" Leif said, as he slowly walked forward towards them.

"Ah, Lief! Thank God you're here, I need you—"

"Just shut up already! I had enough of you! You damn traitor of a friend! You'll pay me for what you did!" The other student yelled, tears of anger damping his eyes.

He then grabbed a handgun from his pocket behind his pants and shot the other student in the heart without a single thought of mercy

A loud bang can be heard all over the school, as many of the students and teachers heard it. However, instead of being cautious they just decided to ignore it and continue what they were doing.

"How... could... you..."

the victim said in his last words, as he slowly dropped down to the ground. The blood started pouring around the floor, even reaching the murderer's shoes and damping them with blood.

The murderer's eyes widened and quivered at the sight of the person he had just killed, as the hand he used to kill him firmly gripped the gun and tremble.

"Shit,"

Lief muttered, as he slowly backed away from the scene. However, before he could even flee the killer gazed toward him.

"I'm sorry Lief, but no witnesses." The murderer said.

At that time, all the students in the room were still loud, as the girls would tell alternative tales of what would happen if Kazuto just accepts his sister as his lover, which made Kazuto really annoyed. However, when the second bullet was fired all the students became quiet.

Leif's body suddenly fell down to the floor, with his white uniform slowly being damped with blood. Soon the floor became wet with Leif's blood, as the remaining students gaze in shock.

"Lief?" Kazuto muttered in shock, as his eyes trembled in fear.

Worried about what might happen next, he hides Lia behind his back, as he waited. The murderer soon showed his face, as his uniform was drenched in blood.

"More witnesses? I guess... I guess should kill more."

Without a flinch, the murderer shot one of the girls in the skull near the teacher's table, killing her as her blood splattered all around the window.

All the girls couldn't help but scream in a panic, as at any moment they would be next. While the boys just clenched their fists, waiting for their own death.

"Kazuto?" Lia muttered as he gripped his brother's uniform.

Kazuto could feel her sister's hand shaking in fear, as the tears made the back of his uniform slightly damped.

The guilt of dying is surging around his body, as he couldn't watch his sister just die here helplessly. However, Kazuto couldn't do anything other than to comfort Lia.

"It will all be fine, trust me. Just remember I'm here to protect you. Besides, that guy doesn't have enough bullets to kill all of us," Kazuto nervously chuckled. However, with that single sentence, an idea came to mind.

'Doesn't have enough bullets? That's right, even if he has a gun he can't kill us all without extra ammunition. He's outnumbered, but what's the point of outnumbering him if the others don't even dare to hold the courage to fight back!? Tsk... Damn it! why does it have to be me!'

Kazuto thought to himself, as his consciousness was panicking about what he should do.

However, he calms himself down in a split second, as he took a sigh. He then gazed towards Lia, seeing her scared eyes and worried lips as he could see radiating hope deep inside her.

And so he smiled to what he could only assume is his last smile.

"I'm sorry Lia," He apologizes.

"huh?"

He then pushed Lia away from him and run towards the murderer with all his strength and might, as he shouted the only words he could think of.

"Are you just gonna let yourselves be killed here helplessly, without even a single struggle!? I say we fight! Fight, for the lives we wished to continue!" Kazuto yelled as he hoped to boost the other students' morale.

Startled by the sudden yell, the murderer aimed his handgun toward Kazuto, but he missed the first shot. Kazuto's heartbeat increased, as the bullet slightly wounded his ear.

'My ear, my ear is bleeding. I'll be killed!' Kazuto thought as he hesitated to keep on running.

'No, not yet! I'm only a few more steps away from him, I can't stop now!'

He then reached the murderer and pushed him down to the floor, but before he could even manage to grab the gun from the murderer's hand, he fired it. Kazuto could feel a striking pain in his abdomen, as he suddenly feels his body pierced by a bullet.

'Is this it? Is this how I die?'

Kazuto's legs felt numb, as he slowly fell down to the ground. His vision was becoming vaguer, and his lips becoming dry. The only thing he could feel is pain, extreme pain in his abdomen as he couldn't move his legs anymore.

'Is this... Is this what death feels like?' Kazuto thought to himself

He then gazes towards the murderer who shot him, as the other boys who just cowered in fear before finally stood up and attacked the murderer with their sheer strength of numbers.

'I guess... my voice had reached their hearts,' Kazuto thought.

His eyes were starting to feel heavy, as the vague vision he had before was slowly becoming white. However, before he could even breathe his last breath his body was suddenly shaken.

"Kazuto! Kazuto! Don't lose consciousness on us, You still have a lot to live up to!" One of the boys yelled.

"I can't... I can't make it. Please... please protect my sister." Kazuto muttered.

Kazuto finally breathes his last breath. His body had gone cold, and his eyes had closed in peace.
