“I feel guilty.”
Staring at my phone while Christian called me and ignoring his calls on purpose made me feel like a horrible person. I needed him to learn his lesson, but I also wanted to hear Siena’s voice. It had already been a few hours, but I couldn’t take it anymore.
It would only be for one night.
I would call him back in the morning.
“You look way too good in that dress to worry about him.” Isobel rolled her eyes. We made plans to go out, and I just went along with it.
“What are you so afraid of?” She asked. “Are you scared he’ll yell at you?”
Yes?
That was one thing he was good at.
“Do you do this to Beau often?” I changed the subject. I had not realized how embarrassed I was until Isobel made that comment. It was actually strange how I had to adjust to Christian’s lifestyle and fit myself to his standards.
