“Get in,” Christian ordered me around as usual. He drove all the way over after a simple phone call, and he was not in a good mood. He seemed like the old version of himself.
My eyes moved to the gun in the backseat. What was he up to?
“Oh hell no, I’m not getting in,” I spoke, shocked. “I don’t know what you have planned, but I don’t want to be part of it.”
“That’s a first.” Christian snarled. “Don’t you always want to be part of everything?”
I was not in the mood to argue, and I did not want to cause a scene, so for once, I did what he asked me to do and got into the car. “Happy?”
Christian didn’t say another word and drove off while I stared at him and thought about whatever his problem might be this time. Was it because of the way I left yesterday? Was it because I didn’t answer my phone?
