If there is one thing that he'd hate throughout his journey as a certified Slayer, that would be the inability to save those he cares for and loves. It is knowing that even though you have the skills to do so, you chose not to because of concerning circumstances. And because of that, these people who left him can only say that it is fine. But how about the boy who didn't do anything? Is he fine? Is it really okay for him to not do anything and let them sacrifice their lives so easily?
The more he think about the answer to those questions, Aran became prone to anguish. For what reason does he need to have in order to help someone who needs it? Seeing the situation right now, he couldn't understand why there are some people out there who would reject help from others. It wasn't right to just abide by those conjectures and act like that don't need one.
