[P.O.V. Jared Woods]
Gabriel and I take a seat in the living room. Riley places the paper and files he had on the coffee table between us and takes a seat across from Gabriel and I. He takes a deep breath and then sighs.
"Dad left you and I a journal each of his. Mine contained information about the old war. It also contained information about difference alliances. Some alliances he had made way before he meet mom. He explained in a letter he gave with the journal that we would need all these alliances for the upcoming war." Riley explains. I knew of my journal, but I knew nothing about his journal.
"And this war has something to do with the prophecy that involves us?" asking him.
"Yea it does."
"What did you learn about the prophecy?" Riley shakes his head slightly and sighs. He looks through all the papers and files on the table.
"We already know what dad gave us... What he didn't mention is that if the father of the twins. Is the new darkness the only way to defeat him is. Both twins have to slay him at the same time. It also reads that no kind of magic or remedy can save him from the darkness. The last thing it mentions that we didn't know is in order to slay the darkness. It has to happen on a night of a full purple moon." Riley hands me a file. Opening it, there was a picture of an old rock with some ancient writing on it. Along with some carved figures in the rock. "That writing is the ancient writings of the gods. Everything dad has learned and what I learn is all there."
Handing the file over to Gabriel, then sighing with frustration while rubbing hands on my face. Now I understand why he never came home. He knew that moment he and I reunited, we would have to face the reality of this prophecy. Couldn't even be mad at him anymore for not returning home. Even though I wanted to be. If our situations were reversed, I would have done the same thing. Moving my hands down and leaning down to where my elbows sat on my knees.
"I don't even know what to say right now." Telling everyone honestly. I don't even know how to feel about this or what to think. If i really think about it. Everything about this prophecy is bullshit.
"Well, that's not even the beginning of what I need to share with you." Riley says bluntly.
"There is more?" My voice coming out a little gruff then it should've been. Gabriel and Shanta looked away from me. Except for Riley. He didn't even shudder at my gruff voice.
"Not about the prophecy about the alliances that you will need to meet. When I talked with them on my travels, some said they wouldn't fight by our sides without meeting both sons. They already met me now they need to meet you."
"Are you saying I need to travel?" I don't have time to travel right now. With everything going on in the kingdoms, I have to be here in this world to rule.
"No, we will invite them to come back to our home."
"Wait, wait, you said back to our home? Are you saying that you will return home without me having to force you back?" Asking in surprisement .
"Temporarily." He says with emotionless tone. I couldn't help but crack a smile and chuckle a little. His face got an irritated look. "What is so funny?"
"Oh, nothing..." It's the fact he thinks that.
What he doesn't know is that his mate lives with me. If she can convince to give him to give her another chance. I really don't think he will be leaving. That and I have to admit to myself that I'm glad his coming back home. I can't wait to see Francisca's face when she finally gets to meet her Uncle Riley. I also can't wait to see how Riley going to act being an uncle.
Riley just rolls his eyes in annoyance and continued on what he knows. Glancing over towards Gabriel, he had a cracked smile on his face, too. He must be thinking of the same thing as me. As the hours went by, Riley told me about all the alliances we had. We had over fifty alliances. That is including the other Five Kingdoms I rule over. After talking and catching up with each other, Riley gathers his and Shanta things. Putting them in an old single cabbed black truck. He followed behind the white SUV of mine back to Gabriel's castle.
Getting out of the SUV, Fransisca comes running out to meet me. With Karen slowly following behind her. Fransisca yelling, daddy as I catch her in my arms and hugged her tight. Telling each other how much we missed love each other. Holding her to my side, she looks at Riley.
"Daddy, who that?" She asks as she points at Riley. "Why does he look like you?"
"Remember when I told you I had a twin brother?" Asking her. She nods her head. "Well, that is Uncle Riley, daddy's twin."
"Oh..." she breathes. She turns her head to whisper in my ear. "Daddy?"
"Yes, my little princess?"
"Is it okay if I hug him? And introduce myself? "
"I think he would like that." Placing her down, she walks towards Riley. Karen comes to my side as I hug her to me. While placing a kiss on the right side of her forehead. Fransisca stands in front of Riley confidently. Riley couldn't help but look unsure about the situation. I couldn't help snicker on the inside.
"Hi, I'm Higher Princess Francisca Adriana Woods. Heir to the throne of the Heart of the Kingdom. The Kingdom of all the gods and goddesses." She holds her hand out to Riley to shake. The reacted Riley had was not what I expected. He cracked a huge smile and crouched down to her level. Takes her hand and shakes it.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Higher Princess Fransisca. I am Higher Prince Riley Zyston Woods. Twin brother of the Higher King Jared Matthew Woods. First General of the Heart of the Kingdom." Riley then places a small kiss on her hand. Fransisca giggles and then hugs him tightly. Riley had a look of uncertainty, then hugged her back. Releasing her, she comes back to me with a huge smile on her face.
"Did I do wonderful daddy?" She asks as she hugs my leg.
"You did." Praising her, she takes Karen's hand and leaves with her.
"You could've given me a heads up about your kid." Riley says.
"I could of but where the fun in that." Telling him bluntly.
"Holy shit, Jared Woods knows what fun is? What happened to Mr. Stuck Up?" He says in a sarcastic tone.
"What are your rambling about? I'm still the same. Just learned to be a little more unstuck up for my kids."
"Well, I'm shocked." He pretends to be shock. Rolling my eyes in annoyance, we all head inside into the castle.
I know Riley and I have a long way to go before our twin bond is fixed. But I'm glad his back. I really have missed that smart ass mouth and sarcastic attitude of his. The rest of the day was quiet, mostly. Fransisca was stuck to Riley's side. She followed him everywhere and thought he was the coolest guy ever. Riley stilled had an unsure look on his face when it came to Fransisca. When night came, Karen and I packed our things. For in the morning, we would return home.
After three years without him, he finally coming home. The castle won't feel lonely like it did without him. I can't wait to see his reaction when he sees Venessa. I hope they can fix their mate bond. I really think it would be great if Riley had a serious woman in his life. Maybe he would want to stay home if he did. To be honest with myself, I don't want to lose my brother again.
