This is the life of Darcy Reginald Finch, on the day Darcy was born her father wasn't there. Wanting nothing to do with the child he left. A couple years later... "What are you doing Darcy?" "Mom look! I made a light stick(flashlight-like) using lividirite and Umo metals(Copper and flint like metals). All I have to do is hit them together and-" Darcy had set the garden on fire, her mother however could care less about the garden. She was frightened by Darcy and her discovery, it had caused so much damage from just a small spark, so Darcy's mom decided to seek help from numerous people but before she got the message out she was murdered in a robbery while Darcy was at pre-school.
The girl felt as if she was cursed, by the age of 9 she had accidentally poisoned her pet gerbil, and at the age of 11 she had burnt a whole Silo full of wheat by mixing Foracine (Francium) with a little water, however even after all that
Darcy was always loved wherever she went, she was loved by the Nun's at the church, by the priests and Pastors, by the people who sell fruits and veggies at the mart, the orphan never felt out of place but she was always unsure of how much she fit. At the age of 19 she was a lot more intense about science. Learning more and more about the intricacies of non-magic.
One day she would find a wandering old man who would recommend that she should come to his school in order to teach a much younger generation in the ways of science and alchemy "Well, what do you say?" "I don't know, maybe. How do I know you're not just making fun of me?" "My dear, I am an old fool. Starstruck and Eager to learn new ways on how magic and non magic work." Darcy stepped back for a minute thinking carefully about how to approach the situation. On one hand she may finally have a place to openly experiment, on the other hand she would have to leave town. "So, what exactly would I teach?" "Your Discoveries! Each advancement you make is already a good lesson for anyone. Even I learned a thing or two from watching you!" "God you are a noisy old coot arent'cha? What did you say your name was?" "It's Ulrich Halbert my dear" Darcy still was unsure but she knew that perhaps It was the best thing to do. "Ok I'll go but there's one thing I want you to do" "Oh?" "I want- you to get rid of my curse" Ulrich looked confused so he asked "What curse?" "Ever since I was little, bad luck and chaos have been happening constantly around me. I want you to help get rid of it" Ulrich didn't know what to do so he answers "Well, my child there is no magic like that. Because bad luck doesn't exist" "What do you mean!? Doesn't exist? How can it not exist if- if everyone I love is taken away by the one thing I like doing?!" Darcy erupts into a huge rage and resentfulness against Ulrich's statement "How can you say it doesn't exist if it took my mom" Ulrich had already an answer but it wasn't the right one to give, so he pulls Darcy in and hugs her as he spoke softly "Finally letting it out huh? Bad luck doesn't exist Darcy, but the work you do is extremely dangerous. But it's also needed. You are a fine young alchemist, one of the best and most innovative ones I've seen. So let your tears flow young one, it's okay to cry now" Darcy bursts into tears after Ulrich hugged her. She felt as if she had a connection with Ulrich, a connection that gave her a new hope
Before Darcy could leave with Ulrich she wanted to bid the town farewell, but instead the town came to her to say goodbye and slowly over the hill...
"Darcy!" A small child's voice could be heard "Darcy! You can't leave without saying goodbye could'ya? An old voice followed by another and another until-
"Ready? One, Two, GOODBYE DARCY!" The whole town had wanted to send Darcy off themselves, and Darcy, she couldn't help but tear up. This Town had take care of her every step of the way, so she puffs up her chest and raises her chin and yells to the whole crowd of crying children and Laughing adults "Goodbye, All goobers young and Ugly! I'm kidding!" and that was it
The rest of Darcy's story was that she and Ulrich had ventured all across the continent of Isla Caraglo in order to reach the town of Cecil and by the time they got to the library.
"That is the last time I go on a trip with you, you old bastard! How many times do you have to fall over?" "Well sometimes I lose my balance" Darcy in disbelief accidentally steps on something and the next thing she heard was "OW! Hey you! Up there! Hay!" "Hay? Who the-" Darcy looks around until she notices a small mouse "Ah, sorry about that, ehehe. What's a rat like you doing here?" "Huh? Rat!? I'm not a rat! I work way too hard to be called that! I have a name you know!?" "Oh and what's that little mousy?" "It's Arthur! You witch!" from that day on the arguments never ended, and Darcy finally had found a home she did not burn down. Well not entirely...
Present Day...
"Ok now, if you'll excuse the sudden firing we can begin class. Since I'm bad with faces I'll just call your names from the sheet and see if I can remember afterwards, um where is Molly Ec- ok woah that's a doozy of a last name uhh-" "It's Ecsolcta, its pronounced Ec-sol-sta" "Ah thank you so much for that.... Uh where are you deary?" Darcy's eyes roam the room when she sees a woman with pointed ears in the back "Ah, are you perhaps Molly?" "Ye-yes miss!" she said nervously, Darcy didn't want to make her too uncomfortable so she tries to liven her up a bit "Ok hey, you don't have to be so nervous. Here wanna hold my gu-" before she could finish her sentence. Halfway through she had felt a glare burning the back of her head. "Nevermind" she said in fear that Arthur would find out. This was gonna be an odd class to take...
