The nice weather earlier turned into a raging storm when the night came close to morning. Lightning struck and thunder boomed outside of Anna's window.
Sleep instantly flew out of the window. Every time she closed her eyes, she could see the white flash of light whenever she heard the thunder.
Inevitably, her memories of the night her parents were killed would resurface.
Hugging her knees closer to her chest, Anna stared at the heavy downpour and of the constant streak of lightning passing through the sky.
Why did it have to rain?
To add, Nikki went home after the festivities were over. But how could she not when Jacob came by and took her home?
Her brother, on the one hand, was also with Isabella. Anna didn't want to come by his room and disturb them. She knew how to respect his privacy.
